Kinda thinking the same thing. Went to a convention earlier this year and Arnold and Helga's VAs were there. Absolutely NOBODY went to talk to them. Meanwhile, Jenna Coleman, and everyone else there had a lot of people. It was kinda sad.

Oh man.

Sometimes, late at night,
You can hear the whistle wail
With a spooky, screechy sound
Like a wheel gone off the rail;

And up in the smoky clouds,
You can almost recognize
The ghost of a crazy engineer
With fiery cinder eyes

I say wooooooooohhooooo
can't you hear the haunted train?

Modern Overhaul? Yeah I know shows like those that tried too hard doing that and they're awful. Dog with a blog, breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig,..

Never heard of the original versions of these they must have been failures from the start.

yeah nobody in the target age wants to watch a hey arnold movie.

To each his own, but I think I speak for most people when I say literally everything about that series was just rancid. I get that the directive was to make things "extreme" compared to the Nick version, but making the characters gay for no reason and throwing nudity and sexual innuendo onscreen every 5 seconds and taking the grossness to a point where it isn't even funny anymore was clearly not the way to do it. The fact that Billy West himself turned down the offer to come back and voice Stimpy claiming that doing so would hurt his career says it all really.

Ren and Stimpy were always gay. There were more than enough hints at it. Billy West didn't turn it down fearing that it would "hurt his career" he turned it down because he didn't like the show being extreme and there's some bad blood between him and John K.

And there wasn't very much nudity aside from the Naked Beach Frenzy episode.

Could be good, but its been a while so who knows.

Soon its going to be time for my annual tradition of putting on Arnold's Christmas and letting the tears flow.

This is amazing, Hey Arnold is one aspect of my childhood worth remembering.

If they actually brought this back as a full on TV show I'd tune in to every episode. I'd watch it while eating cheese and crackers, like the good old days.

Hey Arnold was real as fuck. A lot of people forget how depressing that show was at times.

Chocolate Boy would literally suck some dick for chocolate.

Very excited for this news, hope they bring back Jim Lang to compose the music (though I'm not getting my hopes up considering the target demographic) and maybe do a redux of Parent's Day end credits

All the half hour specials are still fantastic. The Parents Day episode in particular might be in my top 5 episodes of anything all time. Rewatching some of the later episodes is kind of hard for me now because of how obvious some of the voice actor changes are.

Finally gonna find out about his parents?

YES!

Also does anyone think his parents are going to end up being scumbags?

The writing of the show holds up really well and the music may be some of the best for any American/Canadian animated show.

Wow, so they are taking the concept of the Jungle Film (Arnold trying to find out where his parents are) but also making it 'fresh' enough that newcomers to the series can jump into the film without wondering 'Who are these guys'.

I wonder if this means that Nick worked out the contract issues with the creator (which was the reason the second film never happened) or that this was planed as far back as when Nick said they were interested in re-booting or bringing back older IP a few months ago.

Regardless I loved this show growing up and I am hoping that this movie is a strong film that bring Hay Arnold! back :D.

Another poster brought this up, but the fact they said "Arnold is likely not the only movie we are going to make" has me thinking that more iconic Nicktoons will be brought back via 1-1hr 30min movies.

-Rocko's Modern Life
-Ren and Stimpy (almost got a movie but it got canned)
-Rugrats (though they got two movies in the past)
-Angry Beavers
-Ah! Real Monsters (almost got a movie but it got canned)

Could even picture some early 2000's shows getting films.
-Chalk Zone
-My Life as a Teenage Robot
-Invader Zim (Please? Would looove to see a movie based off the show :'))

Just recently got back into Arnold. I think it's the most underrated nick show from the 90's. I'm watching it 15-20 years later as an adult and it never feels like I'm watching a kids cartoon.

Really nice to see the show will get proper closure after all these years. Even if the movie is all we get, I can't wait to see it.

Looking back, it's amazing with how much the show got away with. The Helga's Parrot episode was dark as shit.

I think what was so great about this show was that it showcased the slums of real inner-city life. Disfunctional families, depression, fanaticism, neighborhood crazies. The main character was raised by his grandparents in a complex that they ran. People ran into hard times trying to pay the rent or keep their marriages healthy.
The show was "real" in comparison to many others at the time. I hope it gets resurrected. It's good to have some real honesty hidden in a kid's show.

If this is really happening then I might go back and watch some Hey Arnold. In retrospect, it probably was the best Nick animated show that I ever watched as a kid. Pre-movie Rugrats and pre-movie Spongebob are tied for 2nd. Fuck Doug.

How was the first Hey Arnold movie, BTW? I remember watching it but its been a while.

I remember watching the film five or so years ago and honestly, it was solid.

-The animation was great and the higher-detailed colors/line work was great to see
-Like how every character from the show more or less has some reason for appearing in the film
-Helga's love for Arnold was nice to see in the film
-The plot line makes sense within the context of the show; it isn't crazy or out there, just construction pushing people out of their homes but people living in the homes that are going to be taken down fight back. Very realistic and strong plot to work off of
-Shows humor shines through and leads to the movie becoming very funny

I liked it a lot and it was great seeing football head on the big screen :D. Still own the VHS somewhere in my home too....

I seriously hope it's the long awaited closure of Arnold's parents. Good grief please close that.

How the movie needs to go:

Arnold finds a journal or something, and finds out that Arnold's mom gave Arnold's dad just as bad of a time as Helga gave Arnold when they first met.

Arnold realizes this.

The obvious happens.
