Nicki Minaj the best female rapper ever?

She sucks but most most rappers these days are god awful (Lil Wayne and Drake). So while she sucks, she's about on par with what passes for mainstream rap these days, i.e. shit.

It isn't like I'm some guy who thinks only underground is good, I'm just some guy who has seen the shocking drop in quality of mainstream rap in the past decade.

How can there have been a drop in the last decade? If anything the quality of mainstream stuff is rising because of people like Drake etc. Compare him to Chingy and some of the nursery rhyme shit that was popular five years ago.

I don't know it may just be me but she could have done the reference and gotten it over with in one line.

ok, those female mcs posted on this page are way better than minaj, the only thing that they dont have is the mainstream appeal that she does
 
Hehe, not bad for a late-night post. Is see Nicki gets a strong reaction from some, but it's all good. I'm greatful for the Grae and Dessa links. Who knows? I might find I dislike Nicki's album after I hear the full thing. PEACE.
 
People need to stop saying the rap game is dead. There are so many quality songs out there...you are not looking hard enough. If you don't like Drake or Wayne that's fine, it's what a lot of people like, but the quality of good music out there is crazy.

Uhhh... but you did post it and Spindashing called you on your bs. You didn't mention MC Lyte's name specifically but you made the generalization that everyone was comparing Nicki to underground, unknown, female rappers. Just skimming the thread the majority of the names dropped are something like Missy, Da Brat, Lauren Hill, etc. Basically you're calling the most well known female emcees unknown, mixtape, one-offs, but at the same time you praise those same rappers that near everyone in the thread is mentioning. Seems like you are taking one or two posts that may have an unknown in it and taking that as the general opinion of the thread and spindashing called you on your idiocy appropriately. Either that or you don't know who Jean Grae and Eve are in which case you should still probably stfu because you don't know what you're talking about.
 
After watching the video for Sledgehammer, I immediately went to iTunes and bought Invincible's ShapeShifters album. Thank you for the fantastic recommendation!

And, yeah, Minaj had a really strong verse on Monster, but thinking about her in terms of "best of all time" is silly.

I definitely think she has skills, more than most rappers, but her album disappointed me, half the tracks were great half were bad.

I'll admit, i love watching her 'pervert face'. She is highly entertaining. Best female rapper to me tho is Missy Elliot, she is just something else.
