There's an inherent difference in the two in terms of how they entered the music business though. Nicki came in attempting a more lyrical and harder style while Iggy's lane has always been more about catchy music.

Nicki's strengths are in a different lane than what Iggy's trying to do, so how does that really matter? That's what I'm talking about. Iggy isn't trying to front like she's some lyrical mastermind so what's the point of comparing them on that level? If a person prefers Nicki's harder stuff over Iggy's stuff that's fine but that doesn't make Iggy bad at what she's doing and the record sales reflect that.

Nicki talks about being happy she can represent women in the game, good thing she then goes on to throw insults at one of the other big females in the game for being "inauthentic".

This thread is about Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea, two pop acts who are confident women and have no problem revealing their body. By attempting to shame this thread you're reverse-shaming Nicki and Iggy. They're in control of their bodies and don't need you to tell them what they can or can't look, or who can and can't marvel at their (alleged) beauty.

We're not talking about a politician. Obviously dudes on the internet go too far sexualizing every woman...but this thread is discussing two women who "sexualize" themselves. Nothing wrong with that.
 
Is sexualizing themselves the only thing a woman can do to be "cool" and get attention? Even many of the highly athletic women on shows like Ninja Warrior are extremely sexualized. I'm starting to understand the theory of the patriarchy...

Edit: I never knew that Iggy was Australian. I'd never heard of her until recently. Pretty strange that she's got so big in America. Generally Aussie hip hop is the only genre I can say is almost unequivocally terrible.

I'm not shaming them, they are both beautiful women who can do as they please. I'm pointing out the incredibly immature nature of some posters who post nothing but ass gifs and claim they'd "fuck the shit" out of them, in both this thread and others. Lol nice try with 'reverse shaming'...

That's what it comes down to, for me anyway. Nicki has talked shit about everyone from Lil Kim, Rihanna, and now Iggy. Shouldn't you be happy for the success of other female artists?

Its their job to entertain with music and keep things fun

if you want to be that guy up on yonder for no reason other than to pull a point from an exaggeration of the situation and talk down to everyone talking light on a light subject - one that has sexual appeal seeped through it - then by all means

there's PLENTY of other discussions that need that attention though. like another said, if this was about two male pop artists you'd be getting the same from people who like men.

How am I talking down to people, because I pointed out that the sexualisation of women on GAF seems to be getting a little ridiculous (again, not just in this thread). Hey, I wasn't even the first to do so, so others are noticing too. If you don't think that 50 pictures of the woman's ass with derivations of "I'd smash it" are getting out of hand, then we truly don't see eye to eye.

its not like they're taking upskirt pics of tennis players mid-match, uploading them to a server, and circle jerking in cadence. sex appeal is very much a part of this business that these people know -very- well and this is what sex appeal does. and its not always a bad thing
