It will have legs and probably justify a sequel which is great.
NieR Automata is extremely ambitious in its story telling ,and world building.
It isn't focused on spectacle.
Very different ,and much more meaningful than any FF(or JRPG) of the past decade.

Companies generally don't have press releases for sales unless they're happy with what they're announcing.
And they generally don't issue PR for niche games, period. This has clearly exceeded any and all expectations anyone could have had for it.

Did my part on steam, already got the first one on 360 but unfortunately it was a period when I hadn't the time to immerse myself in.

Suit yourself. I'm playing the game flawlessly at 1080p/60 on my aging PC and having a blast.
There are some weird things going on with the port that are super easy to fix with FAR, that's all really. Totally happy.
That.... would be pretty damn good.
1million is without steam? I wonder if they're counting steam preorders at least.

This is objectively wrong on all accounts.
I think Duckroll is referring to the fact that game isn't available on Steam in parts of Asia yet. It's definitely available elsewhere though.
I don't think people have played fucked up PC ports. I really don't. Arkham Knight? That was fucked. Forza Horizon 3? That was fucked. Nier? No.
