Relax, it is that the last 10 years went so fast that i did mess it up.

A.m.o.k

Dunno if they could make this game, but I wish they can. Also Wolfeinstein for Xbox360 would be a good thing too.

well I'm just saying they could do this they could remaster a 3D game no problem
Yes, but they don't, and I expect the reason is economic viability. They did it properly (costly) for system shock and it didn't sell what it needed to to justify the expense. So now it's pretty much just HD texture packs on 20-30yr old games.

I expect our best bet for this sort of stuff is gonna be automatic ai remastering in a couple of years, with some user control for style.

Ai will also do the initial porting. We've just been porting the latest build of our rather complex iOS app to android using fable. The android build hasn't been updated in about 18 months as we had that built external (cost about 100k and took best part of 2 years via a local agency). Meanwhile the iOS version was completely rebuilt from the ground up, redesigned and multiple new features. None of which were in the android build. Fable ported everything in a couple of weeks and it works better with less bugs than the version the agency made🤷‍♂️.

So yeah I do think these tools are going to change the landscape for remasters one way or another.

I want them to bring back otherwise unavailable, broken, unfixed by fans games like MechWarriors, their remasters don't do much for me (from indifferent to negative visual changes) but I guess are nice on consoles that don't have easy access to them as the games in the OP on Steam, GOG, etc...

Tons of stuff on my wishlist for Nightdive, some probably impossible but I'll list anyway:

Forgot about The Darkness, that also could use a remaster.

kick ass list one thing
Star Wars Republic Commandos is already remastered

Kind of, it got remastered for Switch and PS4, but not on other platforms, and that remaster did less than I've seen Nightdive stuff do. Mostly just wide-screen and higher resolution support, modernized gamepad controls, UI improvements for those resolutions, and some better shaders.

At least on PC you still need community mods to bring it up to a 4k 60fps experience, and some other mods offer higher detailed assets. I'd still like to see a remaster, but less needed than other games in my list.

This thread reminded me that Monolith was shut down.

Apparently employees quit on mass when their new IP was canceled and they were put to work on a wonder woman game.

First let me say, I don't know how feasible these are. But, I will throw out a few titles. All different genres.

1.) Colony Wars
2.) Wing Commander
3.) Quest for Glory 1
4.) T2 Arcade w/ controller support
5.) Rampage n64
6.) Beetle Adventure racing
7.) Snatcher
8.) Maniac Mansion
9.) Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine
10.) Blue Stinger
11.) Fire Pro Wrestling D
12.) Dino Crisis (since no one else is doing it!)
13.) Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
14.) Alone in the Dark
15.) Legacy of Kain 1 remake
16.) Confidential Mission
17.) quake 3 arena
18.) Daytona USA
19.) Cool Spot
20.) alien vs predator (jaguar)

*honestly, there are tons of N64/PS1/Dreamcast games they could choose from.

99% of games in this thread don't need any remaster, and the only reason why people seem to ask for these are so that they can play them on a console - so less a remaster and more a straight up console port.

I would like to see them remaster some games from the early 2000s. Some of them are available on GOG, but it would be great to see them with native controller support so I could play them on Steam Deck.
  • No One Lives Forever 1+2
  • AvP2
  • Soldier of Fortune 1+2
  • Elite Force 1+2
  • Wolfenstein 2009
  • I guess RTCW for consoles although RealRTCW on PC is fantastic
  • Prey 2006

+1 for Prey, I loved that game!
Wouldn't mind SoF 1+2 either

NOLF 1 & 2 (hopefully some day those escape licensing hell)
Deus Ex (assuming Aspyr doesn't get things turned around)
Thief 2 & 3
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay

you do you have a point but it's night dive so they would give it some quality of life improvements anyway

I get what you're saying but they're not just focus on PC they're focused on getting these on Modern consoles as well

A remaster is the only way the new mass of PC gamers is ever gonna head about these games.

A crime against humanity we didn't get more World in Conflicts.

Remasters on PC introduce the game to the large swath of new PC players. Plus on PC it revitalizes the game's MP modes. They should be free to existing owners but only MS does that.

1000% the new Gamers aren't going to look on Steam and see what old school games they got
only mad Lads like us are going to do that

about that
Those ports are rather mediocre.

Fuck Aspyr

- Amercan Mcgee Alice in Wonderland
- Aliens vs Predator 2 (Monolith)
- Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay + Dark Athena
- Condemned 1 + 2
- Fear
- The Darkness
- Splatterhouse (2010)
- Deus Ex
- Manhunt
- Bioshock series (the remasters we have suck ass)

I'd like to get some more N64 remasters: both Goemon games, Castlevania, Beetle Adventure Racing (remove the VW Beetles if necessary), Duke Nukem Zero Hour, Space Station Silicon Valley, Body Harvest, Mischief Makers

I really hope they'll start remastering more Xbox/PS2 and 360/PS3 games. Riddick coming back would be awesome, it's such a shame that both games aren't in backwards compatibility.

I also hope that Thief 1 remaster sells well enough to prepare Thief 2 and 3.
