Ninja Gaiden 2: Sonia officially unveiled

Close-- tentacle rape. she just got rescued from a tentacle monster. :lol

Well, again, it's rather like fighting game franchises. Tiny changes between installments seem like massive and significant adjustments to diehard players and mere tweaks to others.

Btw, most sequels to good games only get "mere tweaks" along with a whole new story mode. There's all new weapons, a new story mode with new environments and new enemies, and new gameplay elements. What else did you want?

These aren't tiny changes. yes, it's still an action game though, if that's what you're referring to.

But we need sex appeal or games wont sale!

The difference is the character itself.

A character could have sex appeal, and be a great designed character that fits in the realm of reality. If I see a girl in a fighting game or slaying demons with F-cup breasts, it doesn't fit.

I find that chick in Uncharted to have more sex apppeal than all the DOA girls combined...
Plastic fantastic for the lose.

Agreed. The Gaiden chick is a Real Doll and you should feel creepy if it turns you on.

Yeah, it's fun.

"Itagaki and co.'s experience developing the Dead or Alive fighting games is Gaiden's greatest blessing -- the game is a fighter-for-one that operates on precisely the same principles that separate Soul Calibur from Dynasty Warriors. Response to player input is instantaneous to the point that developer Team Ninja can craft a savagely challenging sequel you can't call cheap, and enemy A.I. routines that require both flexibility and total mastery of hero Ryu Hyabusa's long moves list. Power Rangers or no, the game's almost unmatched at making you feel tough."

Funny thing I was just reading the article.

Love the comment that describes the spider dudes being a rip straight from the Mighty Morphing Power rangers.

I didn't say it was bad.

Dude I see F-cup breasted girls fighting monsters all the time! :D

I agree with you about the character design that is why I find Asuka and Lilly design sexy as hell from Tekken.

Exactly, Lily isn't some super bombshell with huge breasts, she doesn't even wear anything remotely revealing.

Yet she is a very attractive character and she has "sex appeal" to the highest degree.

I mean, look at her character profile on the website.

The Team Ninja models are looking low-budget these days.

In the Dreamcast/Xbox years, they were pretty nice, even better than most. Now they look downright generic, aside from Ryu's awesome costumes.

I'd love to see some pics or Itagki's(spelling) part girlfriends or wives to see if any are amazonian blondes.

This character totally reeks of making dante into a pretty girl, pretty funny i think.

wouw hahahah lost in translation?
concept art is nice but CG? yuck...there is no style transfer from artwork to cg..its just sooooo boring.

when did I say that you said that?

I pointed out that you're wrong about the game being an incremental upgrade that only fans will notice.

Why not wait until you've played it? Everyone I know who has comes away with a similar feeling of overwhelming sameness.

You're missing the point. you wanna turn this into an argument over Ninja Gaiden, while I'm saying it's a common malady of many sequels to not drastically change, yet most don't get it held against them. I don't need to play to see what's different.

Yet there's enough content in these games to change them up, and people still play and say things like "oh, it's still Halo (or insert game here).." It seems more like a cop out than an attempt to actually discuss the game. You see a ninja fighting people and you say "more of the same." Whereas it does what a sequel should do--more moves, more weapons, new enemies, new locales, new story, but with the core action intact.

I personally don't want my Ninja Gaiden changing...just bigger and more bad ass...that seems to be the general impression and that is ok with me.

I've always said that Team Ninja's female characters are all the same body model with different hair styles. :\

That is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.

...this really is a copy & paste job.

Team Ninja is starting to get as lazy as Nomura. Oh well, at least this will be a better game than anything he was involved in.

Danielsan said:
Yeah I don't see what's great about that. More of a B/C man myself. :P

Well different strokes for different folks. I like them all my self but the hey bigger is always good except once it gets to the F sizes.

I'm almost finished with NGDS (first playthrough) and am itching at the prospect of playing the real deal holyfield sequel.

Ahh, who cares about some concept art and poor renders!

Its all about Ryu, amazing weapons and chopping up undead/demons/monsters...oh, and huge lashings of gore too. :D

I'm still worried that those wondefull bloodfountains will be cut from the PAL version. If that happens heads will roll
but no blood will flow :(

Sonia looks nice overall, but the CG art is actually better and more stylish than the in-game model. Even though I think Rachel's in-game model is more impressive(mostly the face), I think I like Sonia's outfit better.

It's kinda funny how they couldn't make Sonia look more like her concept art it's a way way better than her actual ingame model. Oh well here is hoping future characters fare better.

They had to make Sonia look like the rest of the last gen assets. Team Ninja seems content on not upgraded much beyond the doa2 models.

Is it just me or are Team Ninja, Capcom and Namco fighting some sort of Breasts Cold War or something. I mean, this shit is just getting ridiculous.
I'm not complaining anyways.
:lol :lol :lol

Well fuck those assets they should just bust out with new ones.

Concept Art: Great

Model: Yuck =/

I'm sure it will be a quality game, but the more I see of this game, the less excited I am at the prospect of playing it.

Concept art -> great
Game model -> Master Chief says "sad face"

Not a real follower of the Tekken series so I had a look at the female characters and, damn, the more I saw the more Sonia model looked bland. The fact she looks like Rachel with new haircut isn´t helping either.

And even though I like big breasts, some variation is welcomed.

PepsimanVsJoe said:
A female character with a large rear-end would help. Unfortunately Japan appears to be anti-ass.

Yeah that would be a welcome change if they had some characters with more booty on them. In the end they just seem obssed with breasts.

I think it has alot to do with Team Ninja's distinctive art style which imo, hasn't really significantly advanced much since DOA2. Even Ryu looks noticeably similar to his previous incarnations. I still think she looks pretty cool though.:D

Very good concept art, but in-game...where didn't it go wrong? Ouch. For one thing, her breasts move like they're on universal swivel heads. I like the character design better than Rachel's, but that's not saying much.

WTF, her boobs.. when she falls on Ryu´s hands... :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

BTW the cutscene is not so good.

Dude tha part kept me entranced for the whole bit! :D

I am still really excited for Ninja Gaiden 2, but Team Ninja has to figure out a way to make characters that dont look like real dolls that came to life.
