Here we go with the shitting on E3 2015 again. Sony's E3 was the embodiment of what an awesome conference should look like: gameplay videos, megatons, hype and dreams.
I get some people prefer pure content to flashiness and promises. Companies have a product for those people, and it's called the rest of E3 coverage.

They've been so withheld these past few years that I'm really, really curious what they could have for first year launch. A lot of development power is MIA. They also have really solid foundations for a lot of their games from the Wii U. They should have enormous potential to get content out.
Ok, this is where I'm probably just out of the loop. What FP exclusives are coming this year beyond Uncharted and TLG? Apologies for my ignorance.
You mean show a bunch of games that they can show at E3 2017 as well?Nintedo Has The Potential to Pull a "Sony 2015" at E3 2016
Yeah, because Nintendo doesn't have anymore studios or collabs up their sleeves. No because we already know all the games that are going to be showcased.
The public didnt know anything about FFVIIm Shenmue.
We already know about Pikmin 4 Zelda and whatnot.
No matter what they do, the PS4K will over-shadow it.
Still genuinely curious about this. Can anyone school me please? ☺
Hot Shots Golf, GT Sport, Gravity Rush 2, Ratchet and Clank (in a week or so) and Horizon: Zero Dawn (and MLB 16) come to mind. Whether you believe that they'll make 2016 or not is a different matter altogether.Still genuinely curious about this. Can anyone school me please? ☺

Yeah, I don't think this development void means anything either.Remember the silence before WiiU came?
NINTENDOLAND!!! CHOO CHOO
I don't think anything will match Sony last E3, not even Sony will ever better it.
They had the holy trifecta.
Sony is more willing to take risk, they demostrate that with a bunch of developments, Nintendo seek a more comfortable zone, with some new IP every gen, and one or two collabs, but nothing at Sony's scale (third party wise)Yeah, because Nintendo doesn't have anymore studios or collabs up their sleeves.
Good getting rid of "proper 3D Mario" bit since honestly I'd say 3D World is the most proper 3D Mario 3D Mario has ever been, but still, for the millionth time, Galaxy is not in any way exploration-focused. It's just as linear and goal-oriented as 3D World. The main difference between Galaxy and 3D World is the amount of superfluous padding Galaxy has and 3D World having waaaay more unique levels. I will be upset if they go backwards on this. I don't mind if they make a new 3D Adventure Mario franchise to placate fans of that style of game but 3D World is what I've waited for 3D Mario to be since 3D Mario became a thing (It finally felt like Mario in 3D), but they haven't made a game like that since Sunshine.

Even new ip from Nintendo (or their games in general) use a pretty tight budget.
I don't want a PS3 port, a remake and a kickstarter announced.
If Nintendo can deliver a Metroid Prime but more modern, it would be enough for me to buy a console providing it's not prohibitively expensive. I've said for years I would buy a Wii U for Metroid.
So just that would be a megaton for me.

It has nothing to do with hype, most people just want Nintendo to spill the beans.I swear NX better be out of this world with the amount of hype Nintendo fans are putting into it.
Not my argument I was initially going for though.Sony is more willing to take risk, they demostrate that with a bunch of developments, Nintendo seek a more comfortable zone, with some new IP every gen, and one or two collabs, but nothing at Sony's scale (third party wise)

Retro is very much a wildcard to me. I thought the talent that made Metroid Prime left Retro a while ago? The only game they made since then was a very good but very derivative 2D DK platformer (and one of the big reasons it was so good was David Wise who doesn't work for Retro).
I'd actually be pretty surprised if they went back to Metroid at this point. I'm seriously hoping for a 3D platformer, maybe something with more exploration to satisfy the crowd that wants more 64/Sunshine.
And Shenmue 3 and The Last Guardian were for who?
what sort of wide reaching appeal are the last guardian and shenmue iii supposed to have?
Why can't Nintendo just... Idk, pull a Nintendo?

Fans who have been waiting largely for those titles for a dozen years or more through delays and wish fulfillment. Shenmue fans were specifically for all kinds of fans who were once Dreamcast owners, and TLG fans are for an 150 million strong user base that happened to play either ICO and SOTC 10 or 15 years ago depending on the game.
I don't think Nintendo can have the same type of hype as that conference from their titles alone, that's just my opinion. At this point, the pool of fans is just not enough. Even counting those of us waiting for Nintendo to get their shit together and launch a semi traditional platform with a normal controller scheme to jump back in.
A Proper Metroid
F-Zero
EDIT: Exploration focused 3D Mario (Mario 64/Galaxy style)
Console Animal Crossing
So people will be hyped for 4 games from which 3 likely won't sell a lot? Strange.

I had no idea ico and sotc sold 150 million combined copies. That's even more than call of duty and Mario kart! I mean they were decent (well sotc was) but that would make them even more relevant titles than 2D Mario
Nintendo needs to show the games. I won't believe they have them if they don't show them beforehand. I trusted them with Wii U despite not seeing anything pre release that I seriously wanted. Not happening again. They need a conference like Wii 2006 where we saw Zelda, Prime 3, Galaxy etc well before the console even released.
