It had the "order two games get $10 off" included, along with most of my credit. Ordered Ridge Racer with my remaining $20 of credit to get it half off. Woo!

Yes a few people have reported the same. And also an early video review for the Japanese 3DS complained about it. Seems to only affect some units :(
 
Can anyone give some impressions of PES please?

I am getting SSFIV and PES at the moment but may change that to Ghost Recon if PES isnt up to par. I was kind of looking for a good game of soccer though!

I waited in line in -15 degree weather for an hour and was the first one in...and they had no swag whatsoever. Not even a piece of paper promoting upcoming games as a bag insert. (This was at EB, but Canada usually blows for swag)

I ordered 3 games. SSFIV, Star Wars, Pilotwings, and the system itself.

-$10 SSF4
-$10 Star Wars
-$10 Pilotwings
-$9.99 second SSF4 credit ($10 off anything on Amazon).

Leaves me with $25 from the system, plus another $10 when Ghost Recon goes through. So I can get one more game for $5.

Yeah, I've been playing that this morning. Really fun. I got that along with Street Fighter. I think those were the 2 best launch titles.

Same thing happened to me because Street Fighter IV came with an extra $10 in credit.

Possibly extra $10 from SSIV3D if you had preordered that early.
Plus $10 instant discount for buying two games which is the promo that started today.

Played a few other titles at the event. Steel Diver periscope mode was really entertaining, but I don't think the title itself is worth $39.99. Nintendogs seemed like more of the same, and being in the event tents with all the background noise, it was nearly impossible to use voice commands they want you to early on. PES seemed pretty polished, and if I was a fan of the series I would surely want to pick it up.

I'm sad I didn't get to see Rayman, or Ridge Racer.. but maybe eventually.

Worth if so far?

Was tempted to get one yesterday or todau, but most of the games just seem really bleh. And were there a lot of copies at FS/BB?

Picked up my 3DS and Pilotwings. Took a bunch of 3D photos, set it up with my 63 character router key, now it's charging up. I had already tried it at Best Buy, and it's everything I expected. Thankfully no stuck or dead pixels as far as I can see (I looked pretty well).

The 3D photos, unlike the games, do have that viewmaster / 3D HDTV 'layered' look. Probably something to do with stereoscopic photos? I don't know. They're still cool, but not as cool as 3DS games.

I'm at work right so I cant check my 3DS right now but did your character key have a ~ or a | symbol?

Mine does and the keyboard I get for in putting my key doesn't have those symbols anywhere, shifting doesn't work, and the symbols tab where they are normally located is grayed out.

Does anyone with a 3DS know a way around this besides changing my character key? This is driving me crazy.
 
Gamestop's midnight launch starting at 10 PM ended up meaning "Employees arrive shortly after 10, you stand in the cold or burn your gas until 11." but hey. By being the one to wait longest along with one other exuberant guy, I got to learn more than necessary about alternate translations of terms like Hokuto no Musou and Sengoku Basara.

Aqua Blue is indeed greener than I initially thought, but I don't mind it. It really does feel very watery.

I've had no problems with the 3D so far, slider at full. I wonder which is more the case: Due to being a previous fan of 3D and using various types of glasses, Virtual Boy, and parallel viewing I'm more "ready" for it? Or that my particular predilection for not having problems is part of what made me a 3D fan in the first place?
 
Thinking of walking around best buy or a mall with Street Pass being active just to see how popular it might be starting out of the gate.

Also, the 3D effect for Pilotwings is very nice, works really well.
 
Whoo! Just woke up and getting ready to pick up my 3DS! Happy 3DS Day guys! This will be the first time I'll actually see the 3D!! 3-deeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Some have had updates but I'm not sure if they circumvent the logs. I know pre-update Acekard showed up as Acekard regardless of if it was the Danny Phantom firmware or Alex Rider one.
 
I'm going to have my sis send my 3DS to me here in JP via a friend but I want as few things as possible because I plan to leave next year. Do you need the charging cradle and the ac adapter? Or can you just get by with just one of those items?

You can use just the adapter, but you can't use just the cradle.
 
Someone suggested earlier that I may be having issues with the Cameras due to them being misaligned. Is anyone else experiencing a bit of double vision when using the camera or playing AR games? I just want to make sure it's not me before I try to do something about it.

The only time I see double vision is playing the ar games. The camera and face raiders works fine. It's kind of odd.

Also the "double vision" camera thing is just the cameras adjusting to try and find an appropriate depth.
 
Is the $10 Amazon Credit with the purchase of a 3DS game still on or is it done I don't see it? and for those with the Blue 3DS, is the inside color similar to the teal found on the GBC?

Eh, it's not PERFECT quality. I can notice a little bit of compression in the OK Go video, but it's still good.
And uses the 3D effect well, especially when the dog jumps from the camera.
