k I need some help. Hope this isnt stupid.
All my DS games automatically start in the DS resolution we I play on the 3DS. But I was curious to see what it looks like with the 3DS resolution. How do I change it? o_o I guess there is something I have to do on the home menu?

when you start a DS game it scales it to play correctly on the screen, if you want to play in the original DS resolution I believe you hold down start + select (some people say just select) while starting the DS game.

it will however be very tiny.

What? If anything, consensus is there is a glut of inventory. Every store I have been in has enormous quantities in plain sight, and who knows how many in the back.

Call around to a few stores. If you can't find one, I would be shocked.

I just got my first black screen of death It was on Rayman 3D. Thankfully I restarted it got back to the cutscene and nothing happened.

Anywayz 3 days in and I've played a total of 18:09 :O

My top played games is Pilotwings at 4:17

And my total steps is 11.217

So dar I have Nintendogs, Pilotwings, and Rayman. I'm getting Steel Diver and Street Fighter today, Monkey Ball and Ridge Racer tomorrow, AND Samurai Warrioars the day after. UPS will hate me confirmed. So yea i got excacly half the launch games. Damnit I always do this at Nintendo launches. I got like 6 Retail games and 7 vc games at the wii launch. But I'm happy to finally have a chance to try out some of these franchises that I never played before (street fight, ridge racer, samurai) that I've been wanting to try for awhile.

So I have my $25 Amazon credit but it looks like it only applies to launch games? I already have SSF4 and Pilotwings from Toys R Us. Should I just break down and get Nintendogs or do people think Amazon will extend the credit to 3DS games that haven't come out yet?

Since they actually have a list of eligible games rather than saying something more general like "any 3DS game", I don't think new games will be eligible. However, waiting still might not hurt. Some of them could drop in price before the end of June and seem more attractive options.

You can edit Wii->3DS Miis--even the ones it won't let you edit on the Wii!

So first we thought it was 64. Then 96. Then 64 for games plus 32 reserved for OS. Now it seems to be 128, so that production model saying 96 must've been minus the reserved 32 to begin with? Dizzy.

Anyway, my Pull and go Folio just arrived. Yay, it's pretty big and seems really sturdy. The 3DS slips right in the case and seems to fit perfectly. The only thing I think this may need is a shoulder strap lol.

As I interpreted the manual, StreetPass is disabled when playing/sleeping in any DS game, regardless of whether or not it has its own similar features built in. Is this correct?

I assume StreetPass is always running, right?

My 3DS came yesterday, but I just got a chance to use it today. Played with it for about 4 hours before Pilotwings arrived. I enjoy everything about the system. To me it feels lighter than my DS lite. The 3D didn't bother me that much and I already had an headache when I woke up. AR games, 3D pictures, and playing with MP3s are fun little time wasters.

Pilotwings is a very charming game. I played it for a couple hours and I wish there were more locations. I don't feel like I wasted my money on the game though.

I'll take the system with me tonight to see if I get any sp hits.

Wow, just realized 3DS game cases are thinner. Someone even posted an image earlier demonstrating this, but for some reason I thought they were using an abnormally large original DS case. I don't have anything with metric units right at hand, but using a nearby tape measure seems like DS cases are about 18/32" wide versus 15/32" for 3DS cases, so 6 3DS cases will be about as wide as 5 DS cases.

That's how I interpreted the manual, too. When playing a DS game we can't do the sorts of things we can while playing 3DS games, like going to the menu to take notes or pictures. So I'm thinking the full 3DS OS and background tasks aren't running, including StreetPass.

Guys I think the 3DS broke my brain. Every screen I look at now sort of looks 3D. If I let my brain zone out a bit things just start popping out of the screen just like the 3DS. It requires actually focusing on the screen pretty hard to avoid the effect from happening.

Yeah I'm pretty surprised. I plan on picking a blue one up tomorrow and every major retailer appears to have it in stock in my area. Now to make the last minute decision on a game.

I have to say my initial impressions were somewhat "Meh" when I started playing games because my first game was Ridge Racer 3D. It's a fun game, but the graphics are not anywhere near great. As Amir0x says, "Scamco."

Then I put in Super Street Fighter IV 3D.

BLOWN AWAY. I can't believe they transferred that game to a handheld as well as they did. Absolutely amazing--I cannot wait to see what other things Capcom and the other major publishers have up their sleeve.

I miss the more rugged feel of the DSi, and definitely miss the surface texture of those units over the glossy 3DS BS that you just don't need on a portable.

Don't care for the ugly gradient on the outside of the unit either.

yeah i'm a little concerned about the sliders, the 3d one doesnt seem especially durable. the dsi was much better since they got rid of all the sliders and just had buttons for the volume

3DS launch is reminding me of the PSP launch. Sony shipped a million on day one and sold like 600k the first month. Decent sell through but hardware was easy to find.

From Nintendo PR they might have shipped more than one million if their sell through is higher right now.

It seems like an alright game. I just really suck at strategic games though. If I did not I would probably get it.

So yea thats all I want at launch...gonna get Cave Story' Zelda, and probably pac-man+galaga in the next few months.
