Nintendo and Vans making some Sneakers

hoo boy dat box, the old skool lows look the best IMO

Seen so many articles about these talking about your "inner geek never dying" and then most of the best ones turn out to be just for kids. Oh well, saves me and my partner a few quid at least.

24 Hour early exclusive sale available NOW to Vans newsletter subscribers!!

I'm on the site and ordering.

Prices are slightly higher than regular Vans stuff so £52 for the Mario trainers/sneakers. They got far more stuff available than what was first shown.

Wasn't that yesterday? I got a pair yesterday afternoon on the UK site.

Link? I signed up but no link for me here.

Did you actually need subscriber access? I found them on sale on the UK site without an email yesterday via the front page lol

I got the e-mail this morning, but I think at those prices - especially for a novelty I may not wear much - I'll give them a miss. £18 for a pair of socks seems excessive.

Probably not then haha

Which did you get?

None. I might consider going to one of their stores Friday to see them in RL. I'm kind of cheap when it comes to shoes, often looking for a bargain first so I'd have to think long and hard if I want to spend £52 on one of these. Of all the designs I'd probably consider the Donkey Kong one since they blend the iconography while not being too in your face about it the best. The mushroom socks are kind of cool also.

I wanted to say good things, but almost all of them are gaudy looking.

I don't mind the NES controller one, but the only pair I'd ever want to own or wear would be the simplistic ones with the pixelated wave pattern. But I bought two cheap pairs of shoes so I'm good.

Some of those are really good. I'm espeacially interested in zelda slip-on's but they're a bit too pricy for my taste.

Bought the Zelda slip-ons. Needed some chill shoes for the summer and I only have smart leather shoes and gym trainers :\

Saw that my town has a Vans store. Actually in a place that used to be a game store. Still remember how I got Zool for the Mega Drive there when they sold off their stock before shutting down.

I got in on the 24hr early bird sale and they've already run out of the Duck Hunt style for size 10.

The others are a bit too colourful for me. :(

I wonder what the USD prices will end up being? One to one to the Euro prices, or even more. I can't image them being a lot more than that.

I currently have access to the pre-sale on the french site since I've subscribed.
But I'm still hesitating between the classic/authentic shoes with Donkey Kong print (love the purple color), and the Zelda slip-ons shoes as I've never tried slip-ons. Looks really comfortable and quick to put on/off opposed to standard shoes but well.

GAF advice would be helpful! :)

I'm thinking around 60$, Vans did a collab with Disney not that long ago and their shoes are priced 60$ for the standard slip on and low top lace up.

I'm kinda bummed the Yoshi shoes are only for kids and toddlers, I really wanted to rock some Yoshi shoes. :(

Edit: Didn't see this comment at first (surprisingly)

Yoshi ones are only for kids? Lame, they were my favorite. :(
Yes...we will be Yoshi-less :(

Slip one typically look better with shorts. The tie ins go better with pants

I'm fucking raging. Got the email whilst at work (UK). Went to order just now and they're sold out of my size. For fucks sake! Been needing new trainers for a while and decided to wait for these.
Doesn't help that cunt scalpels are already at it on EBay.

Got a call from Vans UK today saying my payment got flagged. Resolved on the phone, but apparently it decreased the chance of me getting the sneakers for some reason. Size already sold out on the site. Not optimistic :(

Just ordered on the Vans site, took the money out of my PayPal account but gave me a payment failed message back on the store and order status shows as cancelled.

UK people should probably avoid the site at the moment.

Man, almost went for the pixelated stripe shoes this morning but put it off, now my size is sold out.

The Donkey Kong shirt is cool in a "I could never pull that off" way, I'd buy it for the novelty if it wasn't so expensive.

All that's left that I really want is Duck Hunt socks, but I don't want a pair of Duck Hunt socks that cost £18, you know? Since stuff is going out of stock pretty quickly, does anyone in the know about these kind of things think more stock will be made available? Maybe to the extent I could find them for RRP/a little cheaper a few months down the line?
