Nintendo Dev Roundtable - Pikmin Wii was intended to release 2011, moved to Wii U

How do they really not have more content for 3DS? What are their teams doing? We knew about Mario Kart, StarFox REMAKE, and Kid Icarus since before launch, and Super Mario 3DS slightly after.

WiiU games.

Honestly... after seeing the footage of Super Mario 3DS, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Mario Kart (and especially now that Retro is a part of it somehow), I'm most excited about the 3DS--I didn't even want one before now.

Wii U continues to elicit this reaction from me: (-_-)

Are you shitting me?

Zelda, Star Fox, Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, and Mario seems fine from a first-party stand point for the rest of the year. I hope Nintendo actually releases some games in the first quarter of next year, though. It seems like they just ignore it most of the time.

Probably prepping Wii U content.

Draked? What does it mean?
IGN in-joke about breaking embargo, which Audrey has apparently done at least once recently. I can't remember to be honest, I'm barely listening when I have IGN podcasts on.

Wifi off? Yep, I'm out. Hope something turns up tomorrow morning. Nite all.

Were people expecting this to be another press conference or something? This is just a round table. We'll be lucky to get one big announcement out of this. Everyone hold yer damn horses.

I think Retro handed some DKCR and Donkey Kong assets. The game is basically running on a MK DS engine on crack. Don't get your Retro panties in a bunch. Sheesh.

We actually KNOW we'll get announcements out of it. Just maybe not tonight.

There's Paper Mario and Animal Crossing as well, two game Nintendo has been afraid to show for somer reason. :\

And there's those two Kirby games for Wii and DS, as well.

Eh, I guess Dimensions and Mercenaries can potentially keep me occupied until the release of star fox in sept.

would have loved to hear more about Animal Crossing though :/

They have plenty of content for 3DS, that's just the stuff that's out this year. We're getting many more big first party games this year for the system than we normally do for any Nintendo system.

Read the first page, its hilarious. People were expecting Smash Brothers trailers and Pikmin 3 reveals.

Anyway, good to know 60FPS + Retro involvement.

WiiU games.

A year away? And we know that's going to have a paltry launch line-up too.

They still make the best games, but I'm just feeling more and more that Nintendo doesn't know how to respond to all the surrounding threats from new media and the tech behemoths like Sony and MS.

Wii U games would take 2-3 years to make, so yeah...

I don't get why he needs to apologize about the Water Temple. I've gotten lost in ever single temple in Zelda anyway. The Ice Temple in LTTP is much worse.

Because the water temple is a bitch. With the pausing every 3 seconds to take the boots on and off.

They're really just talking about all these games we already know about?

Come on. Reggie you asshole you hyped this yourself.

IIRC you can do LTTP out of order, at least some of the Dark World, because I remember finishing Turtle Rock and the bottom-left swamp without finishing the Ice dungeon, as a kid, during my first playthrough.

I guess it is. I've just been chilling with Steel Diver too long, and I'm so disinterested by remakes that I barely consider them new games.

So I see Kid Icarus (supposedly the first title in develoment for the platform), Super Mario, and Mario Kart as the big pushers, which are all sure to be fantastic titles, but three big titles doesn't seem that much.

Um....yes? This isn't a press conference

And there're probably more 3DS games, but Nintendo usually announces games closer to release.

Exactly, Nintendo rarely talks about games super far in advance these days. Everything we've seen from them for the 3DS is either this year or first 6 months of next.

Zelda this month, StarFox September, Mario Kart, Super Mario 3DS, and Kid Icarus this fall from Nintendo. And people are still disappointed. smh

I thought the Ice Temple was fairly straightforward. There was one tough puzzle near the end though (it involved getting the boss key, I think).

It was already anounced they designed the tracks. Rare did that for Nintendo when they were apart of them. Also funny that the Mario Kart game that Retro assists with they incorporate some elements from Diddy Kong Racing.

And hopefully Paper Mario not long after that.

Exploration will be a big part of Skyward Sword, with players using their swords to find elements in the environment.

This and the upgradeable items are two things I'm really looking forward to.

You guys know Kotaku's still blogging right? :P

Exactly. And Reggie said about 5 times how the conference was about showing the Wii U functionality, and not announcing Wii games, when asked what about the Wii.

Immediately afterwards he said "and we have 2 developer roundtables!"
