I liked it, although the problem was less the length and that the later parodies were too far from what Nintendo would allow. The first two games I could actually see happening, and I liked the nintendo exec parodies, including the fact that you got some actual japanese in there (although I don't know how authentic, at least some of it was correct).

You're right, Nintendo would never put Daisy in Smash. We can dream, though.

As for the Japanese, funny story - Victor (who played SONY in the Star Fox vid, Samurai here) is just really, really good at faking Japanese prose/annunciation. Most of his "lines" were either made up on the spot, or random lyrics from the original Lupin the Third theme. And of course, a bit of famous JoJo lines here and there.

I unknowlingly made a thread about one of my videos before OP, the response feels pretty bad as GAF is usually a great community. Put me off the site for a few days but I guess people feel very strongly about self promotion. I really enjoyed your video and if the mods decide this thread isn't acceptable then thats for them to decide. Its a shame so many GAF users have disliked your video because of this thread.

It's unfortunate, and I do understand the initial feedback, but thank you for the response. I'm sure things will improve as the day goes on (and when actually watch the full thing!), but I still love GAF.

I guess I'm not understanding the complaints over self promotion. Seems to me that rule was made so people don't spam affiliate links, viral videos or big publisher PR.

This video was made by a hobbyist and released on the same day as a Nintendo Direct (ie, somewhat relevant). That's ban worthy? (according to the first couple posts)

It would be nice for a mod to clarify so the dog piling on "self promotion" stops.

I'm disappointed and very surprised at all the negativity here. Didn't expect this from GAF.

You are very welcome. We are always thinking ahead and want to produce content that genuinely was not only fun to create, but also personally challenging. There are many videos on Youtube that can be deemed to have "less effort" and still be incredibly popular, though that isn't our concern - we want to produce videos to make people happy, or laugh, or shitpost even.

I can only speak for myself but selfpromotion has nothing to do with me not liking it. If it was posted anonymously i would have had the exact same reaction.
I know it's not fun to get negative responses but that's a chance you take.

Happy to hear you enjoyed it, truly. We want Daisy Tactics to be real, too - Victor (Samurai) actually drew all the sprites/backdrops himself. The world map is an updated, vectored image based on the original Mario Land manga.

Yeah same here. And ofcourse i don't want to make you feel bad. It was pretty well done but i didn't think it was really funny (subjective) and i didn't see the need for it. But i can imagine you guys learned a lot from making it. Don't let the negativity get to you but use it as fuel for making more.

This is the initial train of thought I had, I suppose. I really, really dislike spamming of links, "LIKE SUBSCRIBE FOLLOW", all that jazz. The idea here was just to share some creative output with a forum of some of the most passionate people I know.

I'll definitely be more careful in the future, but I appreciate your support nonetheless.

It is much drier, and much slower than our previous video. This was created in a contrast, in a sense, to show diverse production capabilities. However, it finished up at some damn near perfect timing in terms of release date, to our luck.

We learned quite a bit, absolutely, and are looking forward to what will be next. This time, maybe with less asset creation. Thank you for your words.

For this specifically, I do encourage you at least check out a bit after that mark, when the game parodies begin. You might appreciate them a bit more.
