That's actually a really interesting way of doing things. While it lacks the spectacle of a live televised event, it's infinitely cheaper and just as effective in its ability to convey information regarding a publishers games/new system features.

I think I'd actually prefer that to the current industry method of sharing substantial news.

Exactly. It removes all the fluff and gets right down to what matters.

"Blades will bleed. Shields will shatter."

OMG Zelda U!
Coolest interpretation.

When Retro's grim-dark Zelda is unveiled and we corner Shiggy about his claim Retro wouldn't make mainline Zelda, he'll scamper up a tree and chitter at us from the branches.

That's a fucking hatched dragon.

Late game of thrones Wii U port confirmed

The main advantage Nintendo Direct has over traditional events is the constant generation of memes.

Ace saying things he should probably not be saying.

Yeah, if he's full of shit he'll probably get himself bannedOH

Fuck that, give me FF6 instead. Bravely Default can be our FFV

Yeah, I'd rather have a VI remake as well since it's my favorite FF game.

I do recall reading an article though from siliconera a while back that FF V & VI was gonna come to the 3DS. But knowing Squeenx, it was probably pushed aside for iOS games.

Does anyone know where I can find that dancing Link gif? You know the one where he's feeling himself up. I need it... as strange as it sounds. =P

So I wonder if the eShop will finally get some love at E3. If they start putting out titles like those we've seen on the 3DS THAT would be killer. Gimmie a more fleshed out Sakura Samurai or Denpa Men. Maybe put out a new Wave Race or Advance Wars, with a smaller budget to reduce risk. eShop games are coming, it's just a matter of time. Hopefully E3 is the start of when we begin seeing them.

I don't think Nintendo is going to put any new entries of their retail IPs (outside of things like Mario and Donkey Kong or WarioWare) as eShop-only games. It's more of a proving ground for their more experimental ideas that can't be fleshed out into full games.

That would be such an odd money hat.. but it is a franchise associated with Nintendo.. an FPS.. and isn't actually dark and gritty

Though Red Steel or Red Steel 2 sequel? Or does it get an entirely new setting?

Or do you pull a Square! >.<

Thematically, Red Steel 1 would be a perfectly acceptable game to revisit. Especially without horrendous controls.

I just want to say right now I hope Retro's game isn't about assassins.

Such a tired-ass trope, and one with which I can never connect.

Did something specific provoke this? A rumor I missed.

Or is it a metroid joke? bounty hunting aint too different from assassinating.

It'd be cool if they pulled a "and you can go download this...right now" style thing again, like they did with Link's Awakening.

Well , if it's a true stealth game, it's something I will dig. Deus Ex, while great, didn't have the greatest stealth mechanics in the world. Assasin's Creed has strayed from stealth so far now it's unbelievable. Thief, I hope it's a return to form. Splinter Cell is not stealth anymore.

lol?

would probably mean a VC release of the GBA version. can't imagine they'd be giving it a full-fledged remake, though that would be appreciable

I would take that in a heartbeat since that means:

1. Square Enix support for the VC.
2. GBA support on the 3DS VC.
3. GBA remakes on the VC.
