This also good for awarness of these games coming up. They arent exactly system sellers as MK and 3D mario dont need exposure like this to sell. Still would be nice to see one though.
Well, that would be exactly what I predicted: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=60490681&postcount=248
Honestly, as someone pointed out to me after, Nintendo have said 3D Mario will be playable at E3. I would hope that this transfers over to Best Buy as well, but maybe not.
Haven't checked Retro's site for a while - are these the same Metroid Prime icons they always had on there?

Image properties show they were modified on June 3rd though it could mean nothing.
Getting a Nintendo-black/silver-e3-theme vibe here. (or getting paranoid)
Looks like the BB demo list may have been leaked.

Would make sense if it said Yeah if you want BG&E2 announcements
unless they left the design up to the individual store, that looks pretty awful. not a great font choice.
i'm 80% sure it's a fake.

I'm more excited about 3D Mario than Retro's project. I'm one of those boring people that want Prime 4 over anything interesting.
We've seen enough Pikmin 3. We don't need any more Pikmin 3. We know it's coming, we know what it looks like. Move on. I'm looking forward to playing it as much as anyone else, but I hope they don't spend too much time on it during the Direct.
Likewise Wii Fit U. I am genuinely terrified that there won't be enough time for awesome megaton bomb dropping.
Ask kamiyaI presume remake 2 is out the question
You can only spend so much time talking about a single game in a Direct. It's a lot different than a press conference. In the January Direct they didn't spend more than five minutes on a game. X made a huge impact and they spent less than two minutes on it.

Why should they demo MK or 3DMario?
These will sell anyways - TW101, Pikmin 3 and the others have to fight though + people don't know them like they know MK for example
Plus Nintendo is notorious for only demoing games that are finished to 90-99%

Megatons do not take time.
My excitement levels are low and I want to be hyped.
I demand that one of you hypes me up!
For me the titles I want to see the most goes like this.:
1. Pikmin 3
2. 3D Mario
3. W101
4. Retro
5. Windwaker
6. Mario Kart
7. X
8. Yarn Yoshi
It wont sell until those games drop, you already sold your Wii U in favor of a MK bundle didnt you?To sell the Wii U.
Because:
A) The fact that they are popular franchises means they need even more exposure.
B) They already have Demos ready for E3.
Enough? We only know the objective of the game. We don't know the locations, new systems, new modes, etc. There are tons to talk about in Pikmin 3. And I want to see all of it.
I'm only going to be excited for X once I've thrown every Final Fantasy in my backlog off of a truck.
I'll excited once they talk about the online/multiplayer component. The fact that they had "Player 1"in the previous trailer left me skeptical.
Don't forget that when announced, they said this Direct was to focus on Wii U games of Autumn and beyond, and the one which was a few weeks ago was for games this summer. As such, Pikmin is unlikely to have much of a presence in the Direct
They also said that the last one was for Summer titles and they still showed off Sonic Lost World and Mario & Sonic 2014.

That doesn't make any sense. Also, they can't have possibly buggy demos at an in-store event like they can at E3.
It makes perfect sense. Why else would big, popular franchise get huge marketing budgets? It helps sell the most. Exposure is nice, but ultimately you will have more potential consumers with Mario than W101. As for the second point, if we are talking about "possibility" then I'd say the possibility of having a cut down Mario demo is very plausible, especially since WW isn't exactly near release either.
I imagine Wind Waker HD is as close to release as Mario Kart or 3D Mario are, given it's position in the demo station.
Really, demos of these games won't sell Wii U's. The release of those games will sell Wii U's. Nobody needs to be made aware of their existence because you simply aren't going to get a rush of casual consumers buying your console for games that are nearly half a year away, and those consumers will know when, as you pointed out, large marketing campaigns for those games take place.
It's not worth the potential for stolen demo stations, leaks, etc.
Looks like the BB demo list may have been leaked.

So employees can't hope for game announcements now?
Pretty disappointed in Luigi U being one of the demos and no Mario U. Luigi is DLC and is literally coming out in a few weeks. I would have much rather have had Game & Wario be the fourth demo as its a game type we really haven't seen before. Still with the Year of Luigi it shouldn't have surprised me that this happened. Also I feel Zelda is a bad game to be demoed at such a short event. Since how more slower paced I feel it is compared to the rest.

True, but I am not saying this is an either/or situation. They could have both. The huge marketing push for those titles is just a way of reminding casuals that this system does in fact have these games. Even without the marketing, they would still sell more because they are established IPs that everyone knows. An in store demo is much more effective for niche titles like Pikmin and W101 because those casuals would otherwise not give them a second glance.
Video games since 3, that means Shenmue 3 hint.
