I hate that we're turning this into a Michael Jackson thread, but did you get to see Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour? I was able to see the performance in New Orleans, and it was an experience I'll never forget.
Shit I wish lol, im just a broke 22 year old college student that buy games lol. I always wanted see him live. I feel that people who have seen him alive should feel blessed. We are not getting that again in our lifetime.

good song :p

I feel you, I love it all the same..I dont really feel as if the music matured though. Like I said I felt the man was always at a peak it would be impossible for him to top himself. I think the music evolved. You can really hear and appreciate this in the Invincible album when its not that these songs are better than the old songs but they sound different. This reminds me in the motown 25 first billie jean performance and before he performs he says, something along the lines of " I like the old songs, those were good songs, but I especially like...the new songs." Its right there that even the greatness that was him and the jackson 5 before it, the new songs are as good as well, the new dance are as good as the old. Watching him peform with Jacksons again at the 30th anniversay you can see that singing and doing the old dance moves is just as good as the new. When Michael is doing it it doesnt look or sound outdated at all. Its even non distinguishable really. I could go on and on...

I will make a fat MJ |OT| in offtopic one of these days where me you and a few others here can discuss lol..

sorry for ot here guys but I had to.

edit: Its like hearing a unreleased song like this which recently on bad 25.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OqzWaRRV4fY

And you think its a new song but its not. See what I am saying..? lol

Yeah I think we'll all get banned if we keep going off topic :P

But I get what you are saying, I love all of MJ, don't get me wrong. Stuff like Liberian Girl is one of the few things in life that is just perfect. But that doesn't change the fact that his music got more sophisticated as he grew older. It's just more abstract, undefinable. I love it all, but I do think 90's MJ killed it, it was just greatness.

Last post EC, Promise!

Joining the hype train with my first Miiverse drawing (please be gentle, no drawing talent here).

I like it.

Michael Jackson is overrated.

Every job in the media is per definition overrated.

I never got to see him live (didn't become a fan until after he died, sadly), but going to that show was the next best thing. People were in tears, screaming "I love you Michael" at the stage. It was like he was really there. I felt blessed to be able to see it. At least you can hear the awesome remix/mashup album that they made for it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99QO8wuX1rU

Now, back on topic! lol

I wonder if anyone will make E3 FOODS & DRINK thread?

About 27 hours to go! :D

I dunno, but I already got my E3 food and drinks planned out: buffalo wings, pizza poppers, a pack of Summer Oreos (the kind with the Wii U blue filling) and refreshments courtesy of Rockstar and Red Bull. :)

found an old quote

to expand on it a bit, i felt like the touch screen isn't implemented very thoughtfully. remember the early ds games, and stuff like dawn of sorrow when you'd suddenly be using the ds screen to affect the level design? it's kinda like that. this is stuff that could have been done with the push of a button, but you have to draw it for seemingly no reason. it works against the pacing of the game, which is already slow and linear (in a poor way).

a lot of times i can find out whether or not i'll like something from just a few minutes of gameplay. this did not grab me, and like some naughty dog game, it seems to be masking a lack of thoughtfulness in level design with crazy setpiece action.

But what about the chaotic? difficulty? combos? Did they do nothing for you?

I will not use the Avengers picture in my thread. What Nibel did is just as good. Just post it afterward, you lazy bums.

How is Europe NintenGAF dealing with the Nintendo Direct? Since it's at 4pm during workhours.

Usually for ND I watch at work, saying the coworkers I will be unavailable for ~30mins and leaving work a little more late than usual.
For E3 I take the day off anyway.

Is anyone doing a special setup to watch the Nintendo Direct? I was thinking of streaming the Direct on my Wii U, having GAF on the GamePad, and having the IRC channel on my laptop. It all depends if there's an HTML 5 compatible stream, which I think there is.

Do you guys think we'll ever see a Mario with a more industrial/realistic theme? I've been replaying Sunshine recently, and while it's not as good as Galaxy, I like the concept better. The waterpack really does make the platforming more fun and unique within the series (and it's a fitting tool for a plumber), and I really did like the more "realworld" setting of Isle Delfino, which had construction sites, towns, hotels, villages, etc. Mario games today (like Galaxy and 3D Land) have environments that are just kind of a random assortment of colorful blocks. I'm not saying that's a bad thing (3D Land is one of my favorite Mario games ever), but it's cool to see Mario in "realistic" environments. Super Mario 64 also had a couple industrial-themed levels that were awesome.

I just think the SMB3 motif that every Mario game has been following recently is getting tired. I hope Super Mario U does something different in that sense.

How many minutes is that???

1620 Minutes

I guess I will make E3 Snack thread

Two days left! Thankfully I have work to do on the house, so that'll keep me busy. Otherwise I'd be going insane. lol

On the subject of W101, I played it and thought it was pretty good. My only complaint was that the touchpad stuff was a little wonky. If Platinum can address that the game should be fantastic.

Pretty sure they showed that you can activate the touch screen stuff without using the touchscreen, so at the least that shouldn't be an issue(although your thoughts on the level design is worrying).

Also why is this thread full of talk of MJ? He was a Sega guy(plus anything post-Bad was pretty shitty).

I hope we get another X trailer, Zelda Wii U news(even if its just a logo and concept art) I'll be happy. I'm not a hardcore smash fan, but I'd play it.

What are the chances of seeing Metroid in some fashion? Been a few years since Other M. I think its time for Samus to return.

If Zelda is there in any shape or form I might physically scream. It's not happening though.

I'm leaving work at 3PM, will drive like the goddamn Mad Max, jump off my car while its still going, punch the pold lady who's always bleedin gardening and sticking her nose in, crash through the window, somersault, jump and land on my chair, ready for the bombs

In case you didnt know Nintendo got partnership with sega on a franchise that he supposedly made music for :p

And your just super wrong to let you know.
Yeah, you should be able to put the video on the TV and continue to browse the Internet on the GamePad.
Its a joke you didnt get

I wouldn't be surprised to hear some rumblings of Nintendo's plans for a 3DS Metroid. I think we're going to be in for some sweet, sweet Zelda Wii U details really soon. Call it a hunch. :)

So essentially Direct will come out after Sony and MS press right? Looks like it will be fighting some hype. Hell, I have a feeling it won't garner any hype :(

Right. Sony/Microsoft/Ubisoft/EA on Monday, and Nintendo on Tuesday. Nintendo have to fight harder to get attentions from casual gamers.

Going last is a good thing in my mind.

Then again, Sony and Microsoft shit the bed last E3 and Nintendo shit and vomited on it when they had their opening.

"Oh, and one more thing!"

Well the MS conference will likely be a disaster. If the Sony conference blows it out of the park then Nintendo will have a lot of work to get more than NIntendo fans excited. Either way they'll be fine if they deliver good looking games. If they spend 15 minutes on Wii Sports 3 than we have a problem

Dunno, it seems everyone is down on Microsoft.

It wouldn't surprise me if both MS and Sony fumble, while Nintendo takes the gold. I'd love to see the outrage on messageboards. "BUT THEY WEREN'T EVEN AT E3, HOW CAN THEY LEAVE BEHIND A GOOD IMPRESSION!!!11!1!"

Nintendo will be very strong but I have a feeling the other two will do well too.

The Xbox better than people think and the PS4 worse but I don't see any disasters this time around.

Not positive though of course.
