Is this presentation going to be Iwata only? The email I just got only mentioned his name, and Nintendo of America said that Reggie will be revealing what four demos will be available at Best Buy to play on their social channels AFTER the Direct presentation.

Could someone SNES only for my avatar? I'd like his head to still be visible though so if it has to go behind or whatever works.. thanks!

These events usually occur a few weeks AFTER E3 for the obvious reason that European press loves to leak EVERYTHING. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Seriously, ask any US games press person about Euro press.

lol Yeah, wasn't it some worker at a Spanish gaming magazine that leaked literally the entire new roster for Pokemon Black and White? Apparently those guys aren't afraid of being utterly destroyed.

Really? This was leaked? Cause I could have sworn no one saw this one coming.

He posted a semi-cryptic message on the IGN boards right before (or maybe even during) the conference that many took to mean that a mature Zelda was about to be revealed and sure enough it was.

I wish I could find the thread but google isn't helping me.

Maybe(most likely) it has been discussed already, but what 1st party game(that isn´t Wii Fit, Wii Sports, etc.) do you think will use the gamepad in the most innovative way? And how do you think that would be? Or do you think there won´t be that much of significant change in how you use the gamepad? I mean with Wii, there were all kinds of dreams and fantasies thanks to the simplicity of using the Wiimote.

I have not thought much about how the gamepad would be used. Other than off-screen play, no hud thing, inventory management, map and extra buttons.
We know Mario Kart and Mario 3D will be shown with gameplay. I can´t really think of anything for Mario 3D, but knowing Nintendo, they will use it in some way and build the game around whatever functionality it may bring.
As for Mario Kart, I can imagine the extra screen being used in several ways. Rear mirror being an obvious one, live map and maybe some powerup that you can use with the extra screen.

Mario Paint, Pokemon Stadium 3.

Yeah, and certain other people, including myself, got hit for it too.

Probably.

I'd be surprised if Miyamoto does not make an appearance

Man, Nintendo is hyping the E3 Direct pretty hard. In the past 24 hours, we've had the Reggie videos, Iwata visiting 3DS Mii Plazas, the Miiverse E3 community, a lot of Facebook promotion, & I just now got an email inviting me to watch the presentation at Nintendo's site.

I can't remember if they usually push E3 this hard. Gotta say, if Nintendo is promoting the thing this much, I can't help but feel like it's gonna be good.

I hope that they will havd some games after E3 for download. Like Link's Awakening on E3 2011...

Lol Totilio's comment in the comment section on playing with Miyamoto on Kotaku article, what it's like playing with the game creators.

Way back at the E3 where the DS was announced... 2004... I was writing about the new system for the New York Times. Nintendo let me into their booth a day or two early and brought me to a back area in their booth where they had the systems set up. This was the old DS that was never even released, with the round edges and two-tone color scheme.

Miyamoto was hiding behind a pillar or at least was obstructed by one. He popped out as I was brought into the area. Classic, cheerful Miyamoto. First time I met him. Almost immediately, we got to playing. They had four DS systems set up, networked locally to play the multiplayer mode in Super Mario 64 DS. Four of us, myself and Miyamoto included, would play.

The goal was to run around and collect stars. But one player wasn't trying to collect any and was just punching the other players (in the game, not in real life). We finished. I asked who that was who was punching everyone. It was Miyamoto.

Yeah so much for the multiple directs rumor..... Oh well

Oh I didn't believe that rumor, I was just hoping for surprise Ninty goodness to catch some hype before Sony and Microsoft.

I was thinking about this too. Im gonna go with 3d Mario. Im not sure how but I bet it'll be good.

The only issue I see with a really good use of the gamepad is that it would eliminate off screen play feature that alot people would miss.

IIRC he had also talked about the Wolf at the end of the 2nd trailer being Link before it was revealed in the third trailer.

I'M NOW ON VACATION FOR A WEEK! WOOOOOO!

Also, are we gonna see another fruit, you think?
I suggested that in my bingo card. What have we had so far, Iwata's banana and Bill Trinen's citrus?

S
Mario 3D. I already speculated on comments of past interviews and failures of past Mario games. Here are my theories in short.

-Multiplayer focused. Failure of many past mario games. ANd differing wills problem as well as power.

-Second screen is sued for multiplayer whole other uses Nunchuk/remote setup. Easy as people have plenty wiimotes

-Each have a different screen, dark worl/light world style. Ninty's usual design philosophy.

-REal time switching that invokes differenced in each world. Failure of development of SMG2. learned from Skyward Sword.

-In between Galaxy and SUper Mario 64 open world/linear.

I would love to see the grin on his face when they pointed that out.

Random employee kidnapping, punching people ingame while playing a demo; awesome guy.
