Really hope that Nintendo comes out guns blazing in the ND. I'll probably be satisfied with the confirmed games and hopefully they actually show the Retro game. A few other surprises would be nice as well.

Iwata: I will now like to tell you what our studio Retro has been working on... new WiiU Photo channel....Please Understand
Iwata: "Laughs"

It will be interesting to see if Nintendo caves in and does a price cut for Wii U. The value one is getting with PS4 is very good. I am surprised that neither PS3 or Xbox 360 are getting price cuts, so it does help out Wii U a bit since it still has an uphill battle to face against the older consoles as well.

Nintendo is so fucked.

Err what?

Also I've seen that episode lol.

Nintendo is far from fucked. Of course a price drop is needed after Sony's $399, but that system won't release til later this year.

Also, as far as games go, most have been boring. It's the same ol' shit, but with new packaging. Nintendo just needs to show some compelling software to win E3 for me.

The Wii U is already $300, I don't think going a little bit lower will make any difference.

With a model that's apparently being recalled. It's even worse that the model that's 50 dollars cheaper has 32GB vs 500GB

Kingdom Hearts is probably barely in preproduction. I wouldn't take anything of how it looks so far. It's also probably going to run on Luminous which as of now shows no signs of coming to Wii U

I cannot wait for the Smash trailer. Oh my god someone hold me.

Smash Bros trailer should be so epic, they need to show ever major Nintendo Character in HD

the Main Mario people
Zelda
Metroid
F-Zero
Star Fox
Kirby
Pokemon
Donkey Kong

Dont hold back, I know yall have them renders ready

If anything, I'd say MS is the one that's fucked. lol

If Nintendo drops to 250 they can go for the family market while Sony takes the more core tech person and MS cries themselves to sleep for fucking up so badly. Nintendo absolutely needs a price drop though.

No way they don't drop the price of the deluxe to compensate for dropping the basic. 299 minimum

Nintendo's not touching Sony. Sorry, I love Nintendo as much as anyone here but realistically they will not top what we just saw. However, now that Microsoft is the recipient of all of the negative press, Nintendo can use this opportunity to get the heck out of whatever hole they've been in for the past year and start making the system look enticing enough to build an install base. Once that happens then we'll see some better -- even if still tepid -- third party support. It really is all about the games in Nintendo's case.

if you say nintendo will not top graphically, i agree. all the big games sony showed almost all of them are shooting genre.

Drop the price
Announce the good games, sequels and the shit everyone wants.

Come on Nintendo, we all know the Wii U currently is not worth $300.

Blow us away with an Epic Zelda Wii U trailer.

With a Wii U price drop I'd seriously think about picking one up.

So is this the only "main" Direct we're getting for E3 (obviously the system needs it badly but I'd like to see at least a snippet of portable news, such as Miiverse)? Any 3DS news will be in NDs in the following months?

Sony completely deflated my hype. Maybe it's for the best.

My hype is through the roof, Sony just fucking delivered with FFXV AND KH3 announced, and now I'm going to see the successor to Galaxy 2 and the next Smash Bros. I couldn't ever be more happier and hyped.

Difference is Sony can afford to sell a system at lost, Nintendo not so much.

Nintendo can too, but they choose not to because they think it is too risky. That is what got Sony to the top during the PS1 days.

I want a gauntlet of wonderful Nintendo games to end the best E3 in recent years. I believe, Nintendo. <3

I have to wonder how much money Sony is losing per PS4. That's like a $2,000 gaming PC squeezed into a $400 box.

oh man i wish consoles were that strong (and basically just pc's sold at a loss hahaha)

a man can dream

MS and Sony are competing directly with each other

Nintendo is competing with them but not directly

Nintendo is gonna be fine

MS is in a lot of trouble right now

They'll make it up on PSN. $399 + $360 if you want online mp for the life of the system. XBL is raking in cash for MS, and it'll do the same for Sony.

I would like to see Nintendo do one of the following:

1. Easy price drop:
Wii U Deluxe with Nintendo Land drops to $300.

2. Better price drop: (preferred)
Wii U Deluxe without Nintendo Land drops to $250. Begin selling Nintendo Land with Wiimote + to raise install base and for proof of concept.

Lmao, is this why people were so shocked for 399? The PS4 is about as modest as they could go. Literally the only high end thing about it is the 8GB GDDR5. Mid PCs will destroy it in 2 years

Well, Wii U is being sold at a loss, but not a major loss. Nintendo could do it, but it would prefer not to. It's obviously only done a last resort, but Nintendo might be desperate enough to do it. It may be necessary in order to help stimulate consumer interest and rapidly grow the install base. However, Iwata stated in January that Nintendo wouldn't be doing a price cut for it.

With Wii U, we have taken a rather resolute stance in pricing it below its manufacturing cost, so we are not planning to perform a markdown. I would like to make this point absolutely clear. However, given that it has now become clear that we have not yet fully communicated the value of our product, we will try to do so before the software line-up is enhanced and at the same time work to enrich the software line-up which could make consumers understand the appeal of Wii U.

Alright, I would like to say something. It's nice to know yall since we wouldn't be alive after Nintendo Direct Megaton Bomb. It's really nice to know yall. :)

If the WiiU starts selling and ubisoft games makes them a profit

I can def see them getting one of their studios to port The Division to WiiU

Sure, but what does that tell you about its power relative to now. I have a gaming PC that nukes my PS3 from orbit. For a console to be comparable to gaming PC for two years before there starts being marked gains in the PC space again is impressive, especially at $400.

Well, they did it for 3DS, so they could be go the same route, but I'm not so sure as they still recovering from 3DS losses.

No. I never said PS4 is comparable to high end rigs right now. It's not.
