The writing was on the wall a long time ago. The 3DS got drip fed first party games and support just like the Wii U despite Nintendo saying otherwise.

It's about time. I love my 3DS, and have owned 3 variations of the system, but they should have started the move to the Switch the day it launched and ended support within 6 months.

That would have been dumb. They'd be without a portable option.
