Nintendo holding Wii U press event at NYC on Sept 13th

So what do we think the chances are that they start teasing some stuff outside the launch window? Has to happen sometime before the launch date, right?

So Nintendo is basically taking out a page out of Apples playbook when it comes to announcing a product.

You'll have to explain this one. The Wii U was announced and demoed over a year ago, it's not launching 3 weeks after this announcement and they've been doing press conferences before Apple was a thing.

Not really that interested since I'm not getting a Wii U but it will be nice to finally get a price/release date for those who are interested.

“Nintendo plans to reveal the launch day and price at September, and not just the launch titles, also the titles for 2013 will be revealed at that time”
Yep, it just moved a little.

*shut up and take my money JPG*

I just want to know when I'll be able to preorder this sumbitch.

Three weeks until I know how much I have to save. Pay rise from September as well, i'll put away £500 for my wii-u fund in Sep/Oct/Nov.

i'll assume it'll launch Dec 7th for anywhere bewteen £229-£279. Anymore and they're making a huge mistake.

That thing is not worth $350 even with a Wii-mote and pack-in.

$300 at best
OOF here we go already.

Anyways, I'm SUPER HYPED now. I was hoping the date would be announced in a few weeks instead of now since I just started classes and these book prices make me wanna cry. I should have enough to cover a preorder at Gamestop now though. REALLY hope they at least tease us with 2013 games.

Shane Satterfield said there was a bunch of titles Nintendo and the TPs haven't announced yet. Maybe this is Shane's chance of redemption?

How do you KNOW you're not getting a Wii U, hmm? What if they show something so uber awesome that you'd HAVE to get it?

Right Gaf?.................Gaf?

$249 w/no pack in software
Included in the box:
* Console
* Gamepad
* HDMI Cable
* Power cord

First-Party Launch

$249.99 Console
$59.99 Nintendo Land (w/ Wii Motion Plus Controller Bundle)
$59.99 New Super Mario Bros. U
$59.99 Sing Party (with Microphone)

It will absolutely have pack-in software. Just not Nintendo Land or any of the retail games they released trailers for.

I hope they sneak in a 4th real first-party game in there (not those co-published licensee games like Ninja Gaiden and Lego City Stories). But Pikmin 3 or Wii Fit U (just so they get that game out of the way).

IM going to just call it right now...

Wii-U launching in Black and White $299.99 core system with Nintendo Land Packed in.
an additional bundle with extras and a Pro controller for $399.99 and larger HD/FLASH.

COD Black Ops 2 will be shown on Wii-U expect Radar on Gamepad to be seen alot as well as class section and perks displayed on the gamepad.

Nintendo will also reveal Capcoms secret game as well..

Official Launch date November 18th-20th..

Preorders starting September 15th..

A few new game announcements to get people really excited... Monster Hunter reveal as well..

Book it 85% of this will happen..

Santa I have been good... well mostly call me maybe?

Is this for general press or mostly gaming press?

I feel that will determine the number of announcements.

probably gonna be the american counter part to pre tgs conference.

So no announcements here but a shit load on the japanese side

I'm expecting at least $350 minimum. Pack in or not. What Nintendo needs to do is pack in demos or something (probably not) or be able to download demos day 1.

Price, Release Date and some 2013 game announcements please (a mix of either Zelda, SM 3D, Metroid, Retro, Smash, and Monolith Soft would be acceptable!)

Is it the same day than Apple?
Apple one is on Sep. 12th

Iwata confirmed at E3 2012 they will tell us the 2013 games in Fall, so HYPED! :D.

Yep, remember Iwata's words:

Satoru Iwata said:
“Finally, another issue is that the visibility of the future software lineup is unclear. During E3, titles for the overseas markets were highlighted and the titles we introduced then were only the ones to be available at the launch time and within the launch window period, which might make you wonder, “What will become of the software in the next year?” It is our intention to convey a strong message this fall with the information about the price and the launch date and then to create momentum good enough to convince our consumers to buy (the Wii U), but currently, there must be some concerns. Overall, we believe that the current share price has been determined based on what I mentioned today. In the near term, with the introduction of the Nintendo 3DS XL followed by new software titles in July and August, the most important issue is to what degree we can change the business momentum of the Nintendo 3DS in the world. Then, subsequently, when we launch the Wii U, we intend to announce the next step by saying what will happen in the future, and by doing this, we would like to change the evaluation in the market.”
