Hmm, now to decide if this is something to take a vacation day or not??? I took the e3 day off and regretted it. Probably won't for this and save the days for the actual release.

Apple one is on Sep. 12th

Yep, remember Iwata's words:

Yep, Nintendo really needs to make the conference super amazing for Wii U to hype everyone!.

I played ZombiU at Gamescom with the black Gamepad, so I think we will see both colors at launch

And considering on Nintendo's official Twitter account, Nintendo is advertising the black Wii U and not the white it makes it even more of a sign the black Wii U will be their for launch.

choo choo the hype train!
lets hope for a nintendo direct so for us europeans to learn also the launch details..!
day 1 as always!

How do you KNOW you're not getting a Wii U, hmm? What if they show something so uber awesome that you'd HAVE to get it?

Right Gaf?.................Gaf?

Well yes they MIGHT show something that might interest me, but the last Nintendo console I owned was the GameCube and I've had absolutely zero interest in the Wii. So I highly doubt they will be able to win me over with the Wii U.

Plus, PS4/Xbox 720 are coming out next year and will make the Wii U look like a graphical peon.

I really hope they show a preview of what's to come in 2013, I wanna see what Nintendo can do with current tech. Pikmin 3 is mostly a Wii game turned into a Wii U one and NSMB Wii U is just NSMB in HD with better backgrounds, that's not enough to show what they can do.

I'm gonna say $250 with no retail pack in, just a digital tech demo pre-installed. It'll launch mid November in NA and Japan, Europe will have to wait.

Are you read to get EXCITEbots 2 ?

I'm not going to expect any new big Nintendo titles announcements at the conference. Japanese third-parties, now it your time to announce stuff before TGS. Capcom & Square, that means you.

Perfect.

I agree. I do suspect some form of digital give away to incite use of the eShop on the new console. Possibly as a pack-in incentive, just not a physical one.

First-Party Launch

$249.99 Console
$59.99 Nintendo Land (w/ Wii Motion Plus Controller Bundle)
$59.99 New Super Mario Bros. U
$59.99 Sing Party (with Microphone)

It will absolutely have pack-in software. Just not Nintendo Land or any of the retail games they released trailers for.

I hope they sneak in a 4th real first-party game in there (not those co-published licensee games like Ninja Gaiden and Lego City Stories). But Pikmin 3 or Wii Fit U (just so they get that game out of the way).

Any particular reason you think it'll launch at 250 and not 300?

$250 seems too low even though Nintendo's clearly trying to keep costs down like by not including a hard drive and I doubt Nintendo Land will be a pack-in.

Doesn't seem too interesting if the event is coming from NoA. Price and date had to come sooner or later, but it's pretty clear that Reggie is simply going to talk about the same shit as the last two E3s all over again when it comes to games, so it's pretty unnecessary to look forward to that imo.
Iwata needs to announce his typical fall conference, there'd be a last chance of proper announcements before launch.

Where will this be held? Can I just go and hand Iwata a piece of paper with the Nintendo DS printing pictures of money?

They want to be competitive. Keep in mind, the current consoles manufacturers could very easily slash their prices (which is all but a guarantee at this point) right after Nintendo announces their price. They want to position themselves between the current crops cost and the next generation of release by Sony and MS which are supposedly next year. $249 gives them a price that is reasonable to consumers and can likely still turn a small profit.

I guarantee you this is coinciding with a Japan event. That is where we will see announcements.

I agree with this. Nintendo probably learned from the 3DS pricing fiasco as well.
