Nintendo holding Wii U press event at NYC on Sept 13th

maybe everything was wrong. maybe nintendo land is a pack in title, the console is $399.99, and only sing is a launch title with nsmbu in december and pikmin 3 never.

And it turns out that Arkham City and Sports Connection aren't shovelware at all but are really deep, original titles? Wow, you truly have quite the imagination!

Wii U will launch at a respectable price but you ain't getting any pack-ins or extra controller stuff.

Nintendo learnt about putting things too high priced for this-day-in-age but you damn well know they also figured out how to make up that extra cash again by charging for things they prolly would have given away for 'free' (Ninntendoland etc) if they could get that higher price.

$329.99 w/ mario

Nintendoland at most...if even that. $279.99

300$ with Nintendo Land pack-in (America and Europe only, Japan will get shafted like with Wii Sport.)

Week-end before Black Friday.

EDIT: I never understood the SNES logo. It looks like the side of the controller with the face buttons, but the way it's done would mean the face buttons would be on the left side of the controller.

Maybe the logo's just been upside down this whole time. How embarrassing.

Nov 18, $299, black or white. No nintendoland pack in, but it will have a bunch of little things built in (like 3ds AR games, face raiders, etc)

I predict $279.

It's a psychologically medium number between raising suspicions of low quality (too cheap) and raising arguments about low value (in this competitive modern market). It's not an extremity for any particular audience, hardcore gamer or Soccer mom.

maybe it's the circle area that contains the part where the buttons are.

I'm predicting November 18th as the launch date, for sure. Pricing I'm not so sure on, but I'm really hoping at MAXIMUM it's 299, with a Nintendo Land pack in.

Oh, wow. I remember that controversy. Sony's handheld marketing was just awful, but I guess somethings don't change.

I don't expect Nintendo Land will be a pack-in. Nintendo is too focused on cutting back costs everywhere it can and that includes no freebie game or hard drive.

I take it Nintendoland is a worthy retail game? Is that why there's conflicting opinions on whether it's a pack in or not? I know jack shit about Nintendoland.

Oh, that's a good point to bring up. Chances of an official Nintendo external HDD, how big and how much?

I'm expecting yes, 320 GB and $70 (it is Nintendo-branded, after all...).

I'm serious about the no white... they are going to blame it on ramping up manufacturing and not causing delays and sellouts for the holidays... watch it happen... no two color choice

you know what I can't wait to hear... the first day shipment numbers and the holiday region numbers

2 million? 5 million?

White or gold that is, I'd buy the shit out of a gold one too lol.

*caresses gold wiimote, nunchuck and classic controller pro*

Or to a lesser extent platinum/shiny silver or regular silver type one. But white or gold would be the best.

Just like Wii... they say use a third party external HDD.

It's all about cost savage

I'm guessing 250 GB at $50. 250 is a nice, even number. (But on second thought, Nintendo's guaranteed to measure using blocks, so that's a bit of a moot point.)

Nowadays, you could get a 2 TB for less than $100, so I'm guessing they'd make a profit off of that.

Well, they have official SD cards, so I think it's very likely they'll have official HDDs, especially since they'll also be carried at non-electronic stores like Gamestop and Toys R Us, making it more accessible for people to buy.

Well, there are official SD cards for the Wii/DSi. I can't imagine it's a stretch that they'd have an official HDD as well, especially if it matches the paint job on either system.

I expect it to be one. Especially when stuff like this happens. The game must have been cheap as heck to make.

That was amusing.

I don't know how much internal flash memory Nintendo plans on including with Wii U, but one can bet it will be a small amount. Nintendo will say it is adequate because that's how they do things.

So you can get a good- sized USB external HDD for pretty cheap nowadays? I don't recall how much the one my dad and mom bought for their desktop computers a couple of years ago.

It is a series of smaller games, each based on a different Nintendo IP, one of which is apparently at the level of "fucking epic amazing" (it's basically Pac Man Vs but somehow levels beyond), and the rest really depend on the reviewer, sometimes being solid, something cast off as silly (the Donkey Kong themed game where you tilt the controller to guide a contraption on the screen through DK-style girder levels seems particularly divisive). Only a few of the games in the title have actually been revealed, so there's more to it than we so far know.

The basic idea could be expressed as "minigame compilation focused mostly on heavy amounts of local multiplayer that gives newer players brief exposure to several Nintendo properties so that they're more likely to buy upcoming releases from each of those series when they come out". Nintendoland itself is probably broad enough to be a retail title, but it would be more smartly used as a pack-in, in my opinion.

8GB is already confirmed. That is plenty for the moms.

[EDIT] Beaten derp

8 GB ? I heard that number before but didn't know it was confirmed. I wonder if that rumor about Nintendo seeking to offer Cloud storage option in 2013 will be true, but it was said to be 512 MB for game saves and player profile data only.

Don't know if it was posted, or if it really matters much, but the event is from 10am-4pm. Should see lots of hands-on that day.

Ah, thanks for catching me up. I'm gonna go with no pack-in camp based then.

After E3 2012... can't believe people are still expecting everything and the kitchen sink of reveals. There will still be secrets... namely the exact detailed specs of the system.

It's way more possible that Nintendo announces big games, than revealing the specs. Dude, it's Nintendo we're talking about.
