For example, remove the "Legend of Zelda" from Breath of The Wild and it scores a 75 - 80 Metacritic on PS4.

It's extremely complex, and had, and is having impacts on Nintendo's development process.
It's not embarrassing or anything, but Nintendo has definitely fallen behind the competition as a result.

How many games are there from other companies on the level of whatever is the latest and greatest Rockstar game? Or even from Rockstar itself? Everyone is looking forward to GTAVI because these aren't coming out every other day from everyone except Nintendo
Their last large scope games that could be compared on a surface level if nothing else are the Zelda games you already mentioned are top rated hits, even when working with way lesser specs than games like RDR2 or Horizon.
So if that's the sort of game you think is good then I'd think you at least will wait to see their actual sequels/successors. Which like a GTA don't come every year. But naturally are going to come at some point.
The same goes for mainline 3D Mario. Basically you concede their last big games were/are amazing but before they even show the next ones to follow after them you say they've lost it, lol.
As for post-Wii HD development, seems they worked hard and transitioned fine going from Galaxy to Odyssey and Twilight Princess to BOTW as you've also conceded?
Is there any developer that said going from PS2 to PS3 was smooth sailing with no new challenges and issues and that modern development is easy?
If you want iterations that surpass Switch stuff I'd think it's natural to expect it for Switch 2 as Switch 1 can't magically grow more powerful.

The problem with this company is one and only, like other have already explained. They got a bunch of teams releasing S tier, generation defining stuff (less often at that) that absolutely embarrasses everything else they make. I've enjoyed a lot of their "in-between noise" so to speak, but I can see why many don't. The quality gaps in their output are getting too wide, especially this generation now that they have a competent machine for once.
