Nintendo needs to allow more developers to utilize their IPs.

Oh shit. They'd just need some way to get actual QA in there. Or maybe Obsidian should just write the game and let somebody else actually build it.

CDPR might do just as well.

is there a reason Obsidian has this reputation beyond Fallout: New Vegas? (which was developed in a year and a half...!!!) I've heard of Alpha Protocol being janky sometimes but not in that way, and I had no problems whatsoever with South Park.

They're not bad.

But based on their output it's safe to say they wouldn't be a good fit for Zelda.
CDPR is very good when making witcher games, but its strength is in its narrative. The game feel, gameplay, controls, and design don't match well with Zelda despite sharing similar visual themes (European fantasy setting)
I'd rather Nintendo just adopt some story aspects/how side quests are handled.
And, again, there's an established Zelda team so Nintendo doesn't really need someone to come in and make Zelda games
As for paper Mario, they have two Mario RPG teams capable of making it like the old games, they just think that that's not what the fans want or something.
I doubt IS lost the ability to make good PM games, but I'd like to know why they're sticking with this clearly inferior gameplay

3D Metroid by 2K Games could be pretty sweet

Came in this thread and learnt that CDPR is a shit developer..... the things a person can learn in this forum....

if I told you that I wouldn't want 2K Games developing the next Mario Kart, would that be the same as calling them a shit developer?

I'd never ever ever ever want CDPR to touch Zelda. Not with a fuckin' ten foot pole, lmao. And I don't see why anyone else would, unless they just don't like Zelda to begin with and would rather see the entire franchise turned on its head to appeal to them. which is, like, whatever, that's cool, but be honest about it y'all

They should allow sega to make a Mario Kart. Combine the MK characters with their own...HOOO BOY do we have the ultimate kart racer of my dreams.

To be honest I would rather have external developers developing brand new IPs/franchises than the suggested method. A WRPG by Obsidian would be nice (perhaps something in the tone of TES?), a narrative driven action adventure is also missing in Nintendo's catalogue.
