Nintendo has just announced a big rise of its benefit during first half of the year, and confirms by the same occasion its forecast of a rise of 60% of its annual benefit. The profits from April at September amount thus to 54.35 billion yens (361 million euros), against 36.6 billion yens (243 million euros) last year. The turnover of Nintendo over this same period is 67,1 billion yens (446 million euros), against 19.6 billion yens one year earlier. The sales turnover increased by 69,4% to 298,82 billion yens. Nintendo also increased its sales goals of Nintendo DS, from now on fixed at 20 million units from here at next March, instead of the 17 million units envisaged previously, the group hopes to sell 8.2 million plays on this portable console. Nintendo also wishes to sell 6 million Nintendo Wii and 17 million its plays before the tax end of the year in the world.

I think it means they plan on selling 20 million DS's in Nintendo fiscal year (up from 17 million in the last report).

This 20 million figure is conservative because they have already sold 10 million in the first six months. I guess Nintendo could sell 10 million DS’s worldwide in the 3rd quarter if they can produce that many.
