Nintendo Says No NX and No Smart Device Announcements at E3

I honestly am wondering what they have to show. Xenoblade X, Starfox, and Paper Mario?
Well seeing those aren't the only games nintendo has to show, on top of Miyamoto saying in the beginning of the year that they had more games to announce for WiiU, I think it's safe to assume they have more than you think
but less than you hope'd

I think it's safe to say whatever games we see at this E3 will probably be the last batch for WiiU and 3DS before everyone of a decent size is pushed to NX. We'll see Devil's Third, Starfox, Mario Maker, Wooly World, Project Treasure, hopefully Metroid and maybe Pokken, and then probably those games getting DLC up until the reveal of NX. I could maybe see some games building on engines they already have, so maybe instead of Pikmin 4 we have Pikmin Frontiers, which is a Pikmin-esque dungeon crawler, or something like Super Luigi 3D World.

I can't see Mario Galaxy 3 / 64-2 making it to WiiU, they'll likely push that to NX , especially if they haven't already with Zelda.

I'm thinking that they'll show a new Retro title or a new Next Level title, but not both.

Hasn't it been said that Retro has been working on a title since before the final phase of Tropical Freeze or something like that? Seems like it is about time we hear about what that is.

So no NX until 2017. Hopefully Wii U will continue getting support from Nintendo these last couple of years.

Well it could be Holiday 2016. I think that's possible. But then again, we don't know if it's even the Wii U's replacement. Some are convinced, but I'm still thinking it's a handheld despite what they say about it.

Good, this should shut down all the "Zelda is the Wii U's final game" and "Zelda is being pushed back to the NX" comments.
LOL what the hell are you talking about. Zelda is the Wii U's final game and will be a cross platform release with NX.
There's a reason both are a no show.

That's okay, it's too soon anyway but I want to see some new Zelda footage.

Btw isn't it pretty obvious Platinum is handling the SP campaign of Star Fox?

“Because we are calling it a ‘new concept,’ we are not thinking of this as a ‘simple replacement’ for the 3DS or the Wii U.”

Hybrid console, account based multiplatform OS, or some type of combination of the two, this sentence seems to suggest that Nintendo is heading in that direction.

With the past comments that the next hardware will "absorb the Wii U architecture adequately", I could imagine that with the roll out of what is probably the new account system going forward at the end of this year, we could potentially get a glimpse into what the future of how Nintendo platforms will operate before we even get a look at the new hardware that will run it.

Eh, does it really? Seems more like a vague statement that's very easy to imprint what the reader personally wants it to mean.

Why are some so sure that nothing will be said about Retro's new title? It's been awhile since they mentioned it, and it's been in development even longer.

Whatever year Retro showed Tropical Freeze, I was 99% it would be at the previous E3 and it wasn't.

I would be very surprised if their game is at this E3.

Come on, Animal Crossing Wii U...
This would be the first Animal Crossing I buy since the GameCube version. It'd be a perfect game to play on my bed while watching videos on YouTube. I don't have a 3DS, but would buy this one outright.

Just don't be stupid and hide all the cool collectables under stupid Amiibos. I refuse to buy your little plastic eReader figurines as cool as they may look.

I still just have a deja vu feeling about all this "Nintendo's E3 is going to suck this year" stuff. I'm almost sure a lot of people were convinced that 2014 for them was going to be weak, and it ended up being great. Not to say this guarantees it will be great this time, but I feel almost like a cycle is starting or something.

I think this E3 is going to be very good for Nintendo.

Ever since them saying Zelda wouldn't be there, I was like "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm".

I do expect this to be the last big year for 3DS and Wii U (though fall 2016, in other words). The worst part is, I have a terrible feeling that this next year is going to be extremely light on content as Nintendo shifts development to the "4DS" and NX

Blows my mind how so many still assume that NX is a home console. I get it, I guess, but I think it's really a testament to how focused these kind of forums are on consoles when many outright ignored handhelds whenever handheld discussion comes up.
