Nintendo Switch pricing in Singapore - S$659 bundle

The New Zealand price is so ridiculous especially given their currency now.

as a singaporean that visit Australia and New Zealand on a yearly basis, i agree. I visited some game shops there and the pricing is always crazy..

worse, the games censorship there are crazy. I believe MKX is not officially released in Australia right?

MKX was released in Singapore no problem.

Even we have Nintendo branch office here (Nintendo HK), we still need to bundle, except from Apita. I heard someone made complaint in reddit before.

Console is HKD 2340 (USD 301.5, no sales tax in HK)
BotW is HKD 479
1-2-Switch is HKD 379

There was rumor that Nintendo HK will also take care of SE Asia countries (besides HK and Taiwan now). But I don't think there will be any observable change.

tbh I really hope that rumor is true. at least this might cause a better direct support compared to having to deal with maxshit

A lot of Australians like myself have taken to shopping online especially when the US$1=Au$1 back in 2010 era. So it's not too bad if you need the latest game you can always get it from overseas for a bit cheaper. With the lower $AU game prices are not too bad locally, though everyone's shopping experiences will vary.

I'm in Malaysia right now and the steam regional pricing is greatly appreciated.

Regarding game censorship just my personal opinion but it doesn't affect too many games. You're right about MKX and I'd be upset if I were a fan but you can always import these days. Biggest one in my memory is GTA III where they took that off the shelves for about a month before they replaced it with a censored version where you couldn't kill hookers.

Pretty much maxsoft fucking everyone. Really dumb imo.
Might as well import from japan.

that table is kinda unfair. both japan & America price is w/o tax while sg/my price include those gst. unless of course you go there physically & buy as tourist at big store & get waived for tax
as for direct import via online, it can be a bit cheaper after considering the shipping price & import tax/gst/duty

That's like a hundred New Zealand dollars more expensive than the 548NZD for pre-orders here.
That Maxsoft price gouge :(

Oh wait that's including a Zelda pack in, It's pretty much the same price as NZ then :(

I think the big issue is that they are trying to shove 1 2 switch down people's throats.

Forcing a game nobody wants plus adding in mark up price is ridiculous.

Nope, NZ still more expensive haha. And we're more expensive than Australia. Switch is almost double the standard price of a 3ds, and more than double the sale price.

Nintendo hasn't officially come China yet, so you have to use taobao to buy a HK/JP version

There are plenty of shops that sell games around shanghai, at some point I'll go and ask in person. I'm not really in a rush. I'll taobao it if I must, or the price is a lot different from the shops.

You can buy on taobao using a daigo in Japan for about 2500-2800 RMB

Not super horribly priced I guess.

I wonder how much is this with the legend of zelda botw bundle in the philippines, my ps4 comes with bloodbourne is 17,000 php, so I asume this will be around 15,000 php, still no sign for ph retailers.

Switch+Zelda here is more than the price of a PS4 Pro, so....

Edit: Wait, not anymore, the price of the PS4 Pro went up on Qisahn again!

PS4 and PC
XB1 and 3DS is also quite popular at least in my social circle. Don't think Wii U is popular here though

LOL..Wii U is popular in which country?

Yup...Dominant is PS4 for Console and PC due to free to play games and MOBA (f2p games are huge in asia)...

There's a dedicated XB1 following here but it's almost akin to a fanclub.

Our Thai retailers did not officialy announce price for the Switch eventhough they already take pre order from the customers.

However the leaked price for the non bundle that I found out from those who made pre order cost around 13000-14000 Thai Baht. (371 USD to 399 USD)

Yup that's pretty much how it is in my personal experience. Also I used to see the 3DS played in public transit more often a year or so ago. Now it's predominantly mobile gamers.

This news a few days old now but I figured why not. We even have a thread for the Mexican pricing! So yeah, looks like we're getting a standard mark up from Maxsoft again. Lame but expected. I was hoping for something closer to 600, but it's still below the 700 lots of people predicted.

Here's a breakdown of launch pricing for those who haven't been following:

Nintendo Switch + Zelda + 1-2 Switch = S$659

Joycon set = S$109
Pro Controller = S$99
Official Carrying Case = S$39.90

Zelda = S$79
1-2 Switch = S$69

Various retailers are also planning limited quantities of unbundled or less bundled consoles, but it's kinda up in the air at the moment. Qisahn's offer for Switch+Zelda for S$599 for example, is limited to the first 100 pre-order customers when it goes up tomorrow. Probably not worth even trying on the Shopee site.

Share thoughts, complain about shit, or if you're in other parts of Asia maybe compare what your launch prices are like!

Can you please link some reputable sellers for that S$659 bundle? I am considering importing since we don't even have an option otherwise. Thanks!

My guess for the unbundled pricing:

Switch + Zelda - $619
Switch + 1-2Switch - $599
Switch alone - $550

I don't see it being cheaper than that.

I don't know any local retailers who would take a Switch preorder and ship it overseas .The closest would be Qisahn which ships to Malaysia, but that's about it.

Yeah, it seems that the difference is the scale of price gouge and not which territory has a actual "fair" sale price. :(

It's pretty much 100 NZD more than a PS4 or Xbox1 :(.

PS4 you can get for 528NZD with two games from mightyape... vs 548NZD sans game Switch.

You can get a Ps4 Pro with a game for 598NZD.

Think I might wait till splatoon 2 and fire emblem is out.

Local shipping would be fine. I have access to a service which picks it up locally, and then ships internationally. Thanks again!

Then this is probably your best bet: http://qisahn.com/

On their site itself the only payment scheme is bank transfer, but they have a Shopee store which might take cards? I'm not sure, never used it before: https://shopee.sg/qisahn

The Switch pre-orders should be going up on the Shopee store tomorrow afternoon.

If you have local contact to receive, can get from Lazada (http://www.lazada.sg/nintendo-switch/).

They are offering the following options:

Switch (Gray Joy-Con) Bundle + 1-2-Switch - SGD 599.00
Switch (Gray Joy-Con) Bundle + LoZ - SGD 599.00
Switch (Gray Joy-Con) Bundle + LoZ + 1-2-Switch - SGD 649.00
Switch (Neon Red and Blue Joy-Con) Bundle + LoZ + 1-2-Switch - SGD 649.00

S$649 bundles come with 3 randomly picked Amiibos.

Switch + BotW = S$599 isn't that bad tbh, and you can probably get it to lower if you use those Lazada discount codes.

However, importing from Amazon.jp only costs you around 32000 Yen (the sales tax saving and shipping cost roughly cancel out each other), which is just below the 400 SGD threshold so that you don't have to pay GST (subject to currency fluctuation though, if the SGD plunges a bit you might start to pay the ~28 SGD GST). Still, Amazon is nice enough that if at the time you order the currency is in your favor and Amazon doesn't ask you for GST, you won't need to worry about GST even if later when it ships the exchange rate passes the threshold. So, if you want security you could by ordering early and at the right time. But of course, the Amazon.jp stock is on and off these days, one moment I find it in stock and maybe minutes later it could go out of stock.

Anxiously waiting for confirmations on OS language setting right now. If Japanese switch supports English OS and NA Nintendo Account, I might bite the bullet and import and not bother with the official Singapore release.

Yeah the Lazada prices are pretty good. (I managed to get my preorder price matched tho!)

Obviously Amazon Japan would be the cheapest given how favorable the exchange rate is now, but it also means having to stalk Amazon for stock, and as an import set there's no warranty. For something like the Wii I'm not too concerned, but as a brand new launch console with a high resolution display, I think most people would prefer the peace of mind of having local coverage for a year. YMMV.

In Qatar, went to the store the other day to inquire about prices. Forced bundle of Switch + Zelda/1 2 Switch are the only option and they're selling it for an outstanding 2400 Qatar Riyals which equates to around 659 USD. It really is such a shame that they can take advantage of consumers like this.

It's Nintendo's fault though. Both Sony and Microsoft have official PR and distributors in the Middle East but Nintendo is nowhere to be found.
