Nintendo to hold Splatoon Mess Fest

This whole fest reminds me of nickelodeon on the early 2000s doing all kinds of activities like this based on their cartoon shows and I love it! Huge props to Nintendo to pull such fun activities like this. Looking forward to their recopilation video!

If this particular game doesn't sell well at all, no one can blame Nintendo this time.

Oh wait, they have and will, just remembered the Splatoon commercial thread.

Yeah, I've already seen people on occasion saying stuff to downplay how hard Nintendo is pushing this. I really can't think of a time that NIntendo has pushed something (new IP or not) so hard. They really are pushing for this to be a success. I don't know really what else they could do.

The difference being that they rarely promote the stuff they have to promote.

This! When the WiiU was released, there was pretty much no promotion of it. This is showing a massive change in attitude from Nintendo, one which I hope sticks around for NX.

Slightly off topic, but from a marketing perspective, this almost feels like a re-launch of the WiiU itself, which is why I really hope they have the sense to drop the price before the end of the month.

I'm not going to get into whether the WiiU itself is over-priced, but MS slashing at the XBO price has meant that there isn't enough distance between them for the WiiU to be seen as the 'value' proposition.

The Splatoon bundle, with all this marketing behind it, is a good opportunity (last chance?) for Nintendo to properly communicate to the World that they have a new console on the market and that it has games you can't play anywhere else. If people see it in stores and it has an 'impulse purchase' price tag attached to it, maybe they can even reach Gamecube numbers.
Okay, I'll stop now, I've gone too far.
