Nintendo Voice Chat Podcast Episode 52

Official HD Wii hasn’t been announced, there’s been speculation, it’s common sense, Matt thinks it’s inevitable

:lol :lol :lol

Seriously, that is the funniest thing I ever read. Nintendo isn't going to release a HD Wii now, that would piss off all the people who already own a Wii to begin with. Their next system will probably be HD though, but an HD Wii is ridiculous at 3 years into a game consoles life cycle.

Yeah, this is the reason why they canned the DSi after all.
People would have gotten furious.

Nintendo never releases improved versions of their consoles. See what I did there, I was talking about consoles, not handhelds. Nintendo has always released new handhelds about every 2 years.

The 'because we gave The Conduit so much coverage, we gave it a high score' comment was interesting when talking about IGN being the highest score on the game.

Suda 51

- Said next No More Heroes won’t be coming to Wii
- Going to greener pastures

I remember a trailer for the next No More Heroes on Wii as a 2010 title? Did Suda change his mind?

NMH2 is coming to the Wii. Him leaving afterwards is just rumor based on 1 quote from 1 publication. He's never said or hinted anything like that before so wait for more interviews to see if it's really true.

I don't really think Edge would make something like this up. That aside, it's perfectly logical that a new NMH game would be on a different platform. They've maxed out the game's formula on the Wii.

People are vastly overreacting to this quote, both by the Wii's supporters as by its detractors.

1. I never said they made anything up.

2. one low budget game is hardly maxing anything out.

No Rabbids Go Home love? Did you manage to get an play time at E3? I've always thought it looked quite interesting.

Bah. I forgot about RGH. It was the first thing I played at E3 and I really did not care for it. The level design was too simple for me to really enjoy. I also played it about 15 minutes before the end of E3 and went ahead and customized my Rabbid. Then I went into the game and tried a more challenging level (the one with the jet engine). I had loads more fun the second time around. The guy at the booth was the producer of the game, and he'd worked on the first Raving Rabbids, but some of the level design actually reminded me of the rocket levels from Rayman 2 (it wasn't as good as R2's, but there were bits and pieces that were familiar enough). I'll definitely pick it up.

He's referring to Desperate Struggle.

It's a fair point. The original game is the foundation for the series (go around and fight assassins, goofy storyline/characters), and it looks like the sequel is trying to refine that formula. Even just looking at the trailer for the new game, it looks like it's gotten a decent budget increase compared to the first.

So once that's done, what next? I'm not saying that the series can't innovate itself on the Wii, but there are definitely things that can be done differently with a traditional control scheme and more processing power.

By the way, it feels great to call No More Heroes a series. Cheers, Suda.

Little King's.

Matt's retracing of steps on the Conduit was pathetic. Yes you gave it the highest score of any site, Matt. Live with it instead of playing down how irrevelant it is if you own any other system!

Even scrolling past the summary is boring.

And how could the first impression of Grinder be that its original? Am I thinking of the right game? The Arena gladiator one? That had better not be the one they are talking about. The atrocious animation, Oh god.
- Should buy their games and support the company if you’re been complaining about these types of games not coming

I had a lot of respect for IGN Wii, but its slipping away fast with this shit. Im not buying a fucking thing just to justify ANYTHING. Thats not my job, Ill spend my money on the good games, fuck the industry politics. If the Wii doesnt get good entries than it just doesnt. Ill buy the gems and ignore the shit, the way I have forever. Im the customer, what more could you want from me.

You used the word "rumour" contradict something he was quoted on. As CEO of Grasshopper I wouldn't take that as anything other than fact.

You guys love podcast where guys discuss energy drinks for like 20 minutes. At least these guys don't spend so much time "trying" to be funny like some other podcast.

Exactly. I'll vote with my dollars, but only on things that I want.

IGN has bad taste. This isn't news.

It would be a good list if the idea was "Here's the best Wii games (aside from the obvious ones you know about)" but then they put a bunch of obvious ones you know about.

I think they said that list is part of something new that they're launch that isn't meant for hardcore. As far casuals, many of them don't know how great Super Mario Galaxy. Many of them would easily walk right by Okami and Zelda: Twilight Princess and go get Incredible Hulk or Spider-man 3 because they simply don't know the difference in quality between the title.
