Nintendo: Wii U could become "preferred" Call of Duty platform

I think XBox players are set with their platform and out of the two camps (PS3 and XBox) my experience is that they XBox ones are the most vociferous towards Nintendo.

Ironic considering that roughly 10 years ago someone calculated that most original Xbox fans owned an N64 before switching to Xbox. I think from sales or something they reasoned that Xbox ended up taking more of a bite into Nintendo's hardware sales than Sony's hardware sales.

With the way Sega blazed trails in modern online console gaming I always think of the Xbox as a fitting home for Sega fans, in the same way I think Nintendo is a fitting home for Sega fans because of their mascots and heritage.

Anyone remember the Wii60 movement from the beginning of the gen? I wonder if a similar duo console idea will be popularized again?

I can only speak for myself, but I only owned Nintendo consoles until the Wii, and then ditched that for a 360

I my case it's pretty simple: If they want me to play that game, or any FPS on Wii U, they need to offer me pointer controls.

Any second spent taking your eyes off the screen, is basically begging to be shot in the face.

I think the Wiimote will be a much greater asset in the COD series.

If the WiiU version has Wiimote support + HD graphics + a good online system.. then it should be good.

But i'm not buying it anyway so who cares.

Makes sense. I think Halo convinced a significant chunk of the Goldeneye crowd migrate to the Xbox.

I remember this one time when I was driving, I tried to look at my GPS and immediately went flying off the road and crashed and died.

True story.

There are times when you aren't playing your character, instead you're piloting missiles, controlling a helicopter or RC car. The pad could be used for that, and I like the idea of the zoomed in mini map on the tv, with the entire level on the pad. Oh yeah.

Perhaps CoD wasn't the best example...

But was thinking of a Bond game, where you could use certain gadgets and surveillance cameras and the likes on the secondary screen.

It's all good guys! It has a shooter controller now!!!1!11one!
