Nintendo's European Releaselist

GBA and GameCube lists will be up later. These have been copied from a Dutch press-release, but are pretty much valid through all of Europe. They confirm European releases for Cooking Mama and Contact, and we get English Training (wtf?). Furthermore, UbiSoft will bring Catz to the DS. Dogz and Catz were released on GBA earlier this year for a cheaper price, and did quite well in the Netherlands. Catz is the first Cat-sim to be released in Europe.

GameBoy Advance
And then there's GBA. There's still quite a few games coming for it, though 90% is pure shovelware. Zoo Digital and D3DB (D3DB just converts all the Simple 2000 games of Japan for DS, GBA, and PS2 into English) are the main publishers. But it's selling, so publishers keep making games for it. We're also getting Final Fantasy IV, which took a long time to translate. Again.

English Training makes perfect sense for most of Europe :) The game is officially a million seller which means Nintendo has to attempt it in the other markets.

Hopefully they reverve engineer the Japanese version into an America, Japanese Training.

If English Training can improve french people's skills, then YES

If English Training make french people constantly talk half-english half-french whenever they have to say something like you do on Gamekult forums, then NO ;( .

- Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training
- Big Brain Academy

What's the difference?
Which is better?

the first one calculates your brain age, and is based on lots of exercises with maths for instance, and stuff like memorizing words

the other, big brain academy, is slightly different, it's more kiddish, since you make additions with animals or cars, or boats and stuff... (it's yawaraka atama juku)

the better way to make a difference between them is to try both

Videogames-side effect: since americans get games earlier, and most games are available in english first (I'm not counting japanese), our videogames-related lexicon tends to be mixed.

And there's a lot of words/expressions that sounds really bad in another language (maybe because we're accustomed to them in english), like "tutorial" which is "didacticiel" in french, or "boss" ("patron"...). We use, too, a lot of english acronyms (FPS, RTS) and expressions ("shoot them up", "beat them all")... in the end, it makes that frenglish.

I personally do not visit Gamekult forums, so I don't know how things really are over here...

For what I know, the situation is much, much worse in Quebec where more and more english terms get assimilated... the difference is that the mystery of english pronunciation still hasn't be elucidated in France. But one day, we'll know. And the world shall bow before us!

And Command and Conquer: The First Decade shall be available in France!

... until then, I guess we still have to import it.

Off-topic, I guess. So... Gamecube... Chibi-Robo! Good. Game Boy Advance... boring. DS... thank god we have the DS.

GBA, you have no chance to survive, make your time.
