Nioh Last Chance Trial - Combo Video

Nioh doesn't have PvP.

Yet. Koei Tecmo said they're implementing it at a later date.

No details about what kind of PVP though.

My only worry is that they would try to balance the base game to match the PVP instead of keeping all this cool stuff. Can you imagine the whining if the one shot barehand parry applies for PvP?

I wonder what people would think if Capcom released a new Onimusha? Would it be considered a souls rip off? I am glad that it seems to have a very interesting combat system though.

It's always great to watch this guy's vids, because there is always something to learn. Practically being up in Ogress' grill to completely avoid her "fury swipes" attack? Hell, yeah.

My one worry with this game is that you can unlock a lot of powerful skills and I hope the enemies can keep up, or else you're going to spam them with all kinds of attacks.

PvP is going to be crazy

I think it's possible to mimic some of these moves. The complexity is still not in a DMC level yet.

The main complexity to learn are the parry timings and flux. Dodge pulse is a good clutch but flux is how you get back tons of stamina.

Parrying and dodging and regaining ki while trying to be so offensive is what's going to kill all of us. I mean, everything is doable the problem is not getting ourselves killed. :P

Now the trial has ended(for me), I just want to keep playing...I was just starting to get good armour and weapons, it's going to be a long two weeks.

Enemies look very bullet-spongy.

Nah he has a habit of using weak weapons.

Against that same tengu in low stance my character hits for about 230 damange plus 20-25 odd elemental damage. The orge with the red spikes can actually be straight one-shotted by using explosive, fire arrows or fire magic.

Btw guys another reason why I chose a generic title is because I figure if people want to post other videos from other players with good play they can :)

My main motive for this thread is to dispel the notion that this is just a Souls Clone.

That video is ridiculous. (in a good way).

Why does he sheath and unsheath his weapon during combat? You can see him go R1+circle sometimes.

Fighting people's ghosts the in the demo was so damn fun. Bring on the final game. Can't remember the last time I got a KT game on launch day.

I wonder if you can fight a mimic and a ghost at the same time. Gonna try that next time

He just... he just keeps toying with them.

I thought he was running away from that Amrita Fiend because his weapon was on fire and that would've been bad news, but no. No. He doubled back to gather more enemies to toy with. Jesus Christ. Man, this is awesome. I love how flashy the game can get.

Can't wait for the full release. Team ninja seem to be doing everything right, which is surprising considering their recent pedigree. Another comment I often see in the Last Chance Trial thread is that enemies are bullet-spongy and too tanky and often reference XLH's videos. He's obviously using low-level/wooden weapons in order to style on them.

I swear people are spoiled by Dark Souls' Time-To-Kill ratio. If DMC4 was released today by their standards the enemies are bullet sponges.

Exactly, even more so with DMC4 as when going for SSS ranks you would purposefully use weaker combos to not kill the enemies too quickly.

Additionally, even souls has plenty of traditionally tanky enemies.

One of the early complaints was that people didn't like to fight multiple enemies, so it looks like Team Ninja removed a lot of them and now you don't fight more than 2-3 at a time unless you fucked up big time.

But now in addition to fighting less enemies some people also want less TTK... =_=
