Nioh or Yakuza 0?

Nioh plays better IMO, in 60 fps action mode though of course it doesnt have the insane amount of additional activities that yakuza has.

Nioh shows how good bloodborne might be as a 60 fps game

isnt yakuza also 60fps?

They definitely both have different strengths! That said, I was playing Yakuza 0 before Nioh came out. Then Nioh came out, and well....I was...playing Yakuza 0.

Grab Yakuza, i am new to the series and started with 0 a few weeks ago and finished it yesterday. Great game and after breath of the wild ill probably go back and play them all. It really fwels like japan at times.

Well I've already chosen Nioh above all else until Persona 5 so my point would be bias but I've played all three demos as well, so I can safely say that if you like them all then you would not be disappointed with the final product.

From what you bought Y0 would be a better buy since it's more unique when comparing either game to Horizon and Nier.

Man I enjoyed both of them so much it all really comes down to what you're looking for in your next gaming experience.

If I had to choose I would have gone with Yakuza 0 because for me it was the first game in the series and I was really surprised at how well crafted the narrative and characters are. That entire experience was new for me whereas Nioh felt familiar. However if you've already played a Yakuza game then damn this is a hard choice, I guess I'm fortunate I managed to play through each game at its release.

Oh is it?

Doesnt play as good as Nioh but then I think Nioh plays better than all the dark souls games (bloodborne would probably be comparable if I could play it at 60)

Yakuza is still a great game in its own right though. I was surprised when I picked up Nioh yesterday they had a yakuza 0 business edition for sale next to it. Highly recommend it, both the game and the business card holder

business card holder looks so stylish, would even impress bateman

I've only played Yakuza 0 so this may be true of Nioh as well (guessing it is) but Yakuza 0 is surprisingly great value. I passed 50 hours played last night and I still have more story missions to do plus a ton of side content.

It's been really consistent also. Story gets better and better and the side missions have been a combination of fun, bizarre and/or hilarious.

It's technically a gritty crime story on the surface, but once you start playing you quickly get to see all the charm and heart the game has. Just a super endearing game with a ton of style. And it's set in the 80's, so that's a bonus.

Gameplay Nioh hands down. Story, Yakuza. Up to you, Yakuza is much more rigid in terms of combat and controls. Enough to put me off for now with so many other great games around. I hope to revisit it someday though.

Yakuza 0. Tons of content and all extremely varied. Has the most unique content I've seen in a game in a long time.

You need to disregard the people trying to sway you one way or another based on what game "deserves" your money more because the series will live or die because of it.

That being said, if you're a soulsborne fan/ a fan of prior Team Ninja action games, Nioh is the game.

Very different games with different goals that they set out to achieve.

That being said the better game is Yakuza 0 so there you go.

I loved the alpha and beta of Nioh, can't wait to pick it up later this year.

If you enjoyed Yakuza 3 you should have fun times with Yakuza 0.

The game also offers excellent amount of content and depending on how engrossed you get in it, it could take you 80 hours before you complete the story. The amount of times I was sidetracked from needing to fight person x because I wanted one more game of disco.

I mean....

I think they're both amazing for different reasons.

What are you more in the mood for? Fun beat em up with an insane story/characters and amusing side activities. Alternatively do you want great level design with solid combat that can challenge you a bit?

Yakuza 0 definitely. More fun factor in my opinion, cooler characters, better story, music is amazing.

I beat Nioh and found I was rushing myself to the end just so I could make sure I don't miss out on March early releases.

Always have been a fan of Yakuza. Started with 3,went back and played 1 & 2, then played Kenzan, Ishin, 4, 5, Dead Souls, Shinshou 1 and 2. Even watched the movie and saw both drama seasons. #Dedicated.

If you want a good story, Yakuza Zero is hard to beat.

One of the best I've seen in a video game in a very long time.

I have not played Ni-Oh so can't say either way on that title.

I went with Nioh. But that's just because I wanted something that had a good Pro patch.

Way easier than the prerelease demos however.

My thinking is that Nioh is much more likely to be available physically down the road than Yakuza 0, so you're better off getting Yakuza if you think you might want both eventually.

If you only ever intend to get one, then I can't really help you since I don't plan to play Nioh, but Yakuza 0 is really damned good.

pretty obvious answer...both if you can afford them. Can't choose between either since it's two completely different games. Both of them are amazing.

My exact feeling.

Yakuza deserves all the praise in the world for its presentation, but god damn these actual combat mechanics are right from the PS2 era, and not in a good way.

Nioh, from a gameplay prespective, is near perfect. My only issue with it is the crazy obtuse menu for crafting and upgrades.
