Oh and The Assassination of Jesse James is an emo western. It was pretty well done and unique, but I would put it way below NCfoM or There will be Blood.

Haven't seen AoJJ or TWBB, but I hear good things.

I hope the people complaining about this movie aren't the same people who bitch when a movie 'isn't like the book!!!'.

Never complain about it. But notice when it takes place (although, is there ANY movie that perfectly matches a book? Although someone here said NCfOM does, yikes, shit book too huh?)

Some people should stick to watching Michael Bay films.

Alright, I just finished watching this movie. What the hell. This was the most unsatisfying movie I have ever watched. Why the fuck did this movie win awards? Don't get me wrong, I love these "kinds" of movies. But this was absolutely horrible. What was the point?

The main character who stole the money just died, we never saw how. The main bad guy just gets in a random car wreck, breaks his arm, pays off some kid for his shirt, and walks away. The movie ends with Tommy Lee Jones describing some bullshit dream that is supposed to parallel the manhunt for the weirdo killer?

I have to say, this may be the worst movie I have seen in quite some time.

Threads like this (people ragging on vs people praising NCFOM), which usually devolve into NCFOM vs TWBB debates, piss me off to no end, because The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was, for my money, better than both these films and the real "best picture" of 2007, yet it always gets ignored.

and then I was able to get something out of it. Maybe you can even imagine that he was just a metaphor for other more likely events. It was somehow both suspenseful and predictable, and one of the most tense viewing experiences I've ever had. But I have no desire to ever watch it again.

AOJJBTCRF was definitely the best movie last year, and also the best acronym.

It reminded me of something Terrence Malick would have done, and for that, it instantly gets a recommendation from me.

(Also the soundtrack is fantastic. fantastic)

I cannot imagine anyone coming into a thread and bashing No Country for Old Men and then holding up The Assassination of Jesse James. If you thought NCfOM was boring then AoJJ was like watching grass grow. There is really only 1 thing worthwhile in AoJJ and that is Affleck. I was shocked when I saw this movie because it was nothing like what I would expect especially considering it is such a compelling story. Really the only part of the movie I liked was the epilogue.

No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood are awesome. Assassination of Jesse James deserved a nomination for Best Picture, though. I saw Atonement, Juno, and Michael Clayton, they had their moments, but Assassination deserved it far more than any of those.
