Guy who payed $1300 for the game had a lot of issues and was pretty down on it. He got to center in 40 hours but says he could have done it in 20-30 if he wanted, or something like that.

Other streamers who have popped up afterwards have been having a much better time, and finding some pretty cool stuff, such as
new and better ships
. I think the first guy might have
only stuck with the first ship
the entire time.

Edit: There are pretty mixed feelings and even more confusion / speculation about what you find at the center. We need more people to do it before we can have a clearer image of what it means. I think only the first guy did it so far.

40 hours is pretty long even if the game ended right there. Also the streamer was quickly trying to get to the center, at least in the videos I saw. Not much exploring, ect.

Was there a solution to the first streamer's ship situation?

he explained it on reddit but apparently you can't get massive leaps in ship quality, as the upgrades are based on what you currently have. so instead of holding out for a killer ship, you're basically forced to incrementally upgrade to get there. the same seems to be true for your gun.

Again this may be true, but the guy was really not very good at the game. He thought everything was bugged but really he just wasn't doing it properly. I dont blame him as he is the first to play but I will reserve judgement on most things he says until we get confirmation.

I thought people learned a lesson about taking pre release streams as gospel after Dark Souls. I watched that guys video and some of his streams. He assumes so much and just takes his own interpretation as fact and builds off of that to "conclude" just more bs.

Awesome! Thank you, I must have missed that.

It was easy to miss when these threads move so fast. I just noticed the title change, lol. Threw me off. Here was the post.

Hey guys! I asked a dude streaming the game if it is 60fps, to clear it up, and it was confirmed by his mods!

I blame him for jumping to conclusions, becase this was not the first time he has done this.

He did the same for Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, etc.. Saying shit that simply was not true, because he had a misunderstanding.

That is sometimes the issue with leaked releases, but this person is a repeat offender that sends reddit in a fritz with misinformation pre-launch. Now I see why devs frown upon it.

Ah I didnt know he had a history of getting games pre-release, I have only been following this release so closely.

Well I watched most of the streams and all it has done is gotten me more excited to play it. There were some questions about flying into and above the planet atmospheres I had that were answered. And the flight controls looks great. I can't wait

Yeah, I did not at first either, until someone blew up his spot with his post history on reddit. And all the errors on some major stuff he was flat out wrong about, making the forum go nuts.

Are you guys talking about the dude that was horrible at playing?

Was annoying that he totally missed the note to press a button can send the resources back to ship. He even said out loud that he had to go back to his ship physically to dump the stuff in.

There was a big info pane that told him to press the button to do it too.

I guess money cant buy common sense :(

I think he figured that out but then in his last video he complains that the ship doesn't have that many spaces to store stuff, while using the same starter ship the whole time lolol

That message is on the screen when you are in the inventory too. Big triangle button in the corner that says send back to ship. He didn't see it for so long

Reading About This Game on Steam, it still says Galaxy more than Universe.

Steam "About This Game" said:
Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Share your journey
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Either way...pumped for next week!

Nothing quite like waking up to an email from Sony PR. :D

And yeah, review copies are basically being held to wait for the day one patch.

No he wasn't. He had a lot of issues but said he enjoyed his time with it and couldn't wait to get back to playing it.

I also don't think he said this. Or at least, he was misinformed when he did.

Days after he started streaming, other streamers came on board and were immediately finding better ships than him that were giving them huge leaps in ship quality/capability.

So there is actually confirmation that "update 1" is a day 1 patch now?
I mean, they could be working on both. But yes, there is a day zero patch thats being prepped, and I wager they are getting it certified.

Best case scenario, reviewables will go out today or tomorrow, journos will have the weekend with it, and reviews will be day one or later.

Sounds good, looks like they squeezed it in just under the wire. I'm hoping this game gets a lot of content updates though

Nope, in all the streams I've seen, people have only been finding slightly better (or worse) ships than their current one.

Sooo launch patch is in..

I've never been this excited about a day 1 patch lol

It'll probably be oriented around some bug fixes, like the game crashing or that laser thing (which I'm still pretty damn confused about but have resigned to just test myself when the game comes out). However, if it's the same patch they talked about on twitter, then maybe some new content! And maybe a new game seed. If they really wanna make me happy, they're adding more mods.

Damn now you got me hyped too.

Don't have any desire to be a downer- so far as I know, I am still the human being who is the most excited for the launch of this game- but I don't understand where "Day 1 Patch Confirmed" is coming from. I see no confirmation whatsoever of one even existing.

Obviously the first update they have just been working on (with the "new features, balancing and content") is a real thing and I'm super psyched for it whenever it comes, but where is this notion that that (or anything) is guaranteed to be a day 1 patch coming from?

Legacy said he got an email, so I am guessing he is a reviewer and they said there is a day 1 patch?

There is no confirmation. It was "confirmed" yesterday but that Twitter account was fake.

We only know they are working on Update 1.

edit: looks like Legacy might know something ;)

My assumption is coming from this:

I'm assuming legacy works in the industry and is waiting on review copies.

I am betting the Day 1 patch is separate from 'Update 1', and has already been, or is almost done with the cert process that addresses some crashing issues, etc..

Update 1 will probably come 2 weeks after or so.

Only saying this because if something pops up in pushing through cert now, there is no time to get it fixed/resubmitted for Day 1, I would think.

But hey, if it is 'Update 1', then that is great.

Can you spoiler-free discuss what about it stood out to you and got you excited/impressed?

I think it was the sheer movement, the guy was zipping in and out....chasing the other spaceship...the other spaceship's trail lit up the sky...man I'm just a sucker for anything space.

+soundtrack in the back is so good.

I got a sense of speed and thrill.

I wasn't really interested in this game. I didn't read much on it and it didn't seem like something I would enjoy. We are now a week from release and I am probably going to get it on release day haha.

I figured at worst, with GCU at Best Buy. If I don't like it and trade it in two weeks later I'll be out $15 bucks. Not bad for a two week rental. I am hoping I really enjoy it. I am going into it blind and have no huge expectations. It also isn't a game I have been waiting on, so the hype meter isn't there either.

Oh man, this gon' be good!

Yeah I hope I didn't make it seem like I'm saying legacy is lying in any way or anything of the sort. I just mean I haven't seen any confirmation or even any actual indication of a day one patch myself- and I obviously have no clue what the source he is referencing actually said or was deriving his or her information from in the first place...

I should couch all of this by saying that if day 1 comes and there is not in fact a patch it's going to be super annoying if the prevailing whine is that we were lied to or that such a patch was "delayed"

What developer ever announces a 'day one patch' to the public, unless usually, specifically asked in an interview or revealed in a embargo email?

Just about every game now, especially ones at retail, have Day 1 patches. So in todays gaming landscape, it is practically expected.

Yeah I'm hoping it's the patch that includes the new content but realistically that's likely a couple weeks away.
Still it's nice to know we'll have a more polished experience day 1, even though this is standard to the industry now.
