No Man's Sky gets released like, soon, I guess ¯\_()_/¯

I actually removed one patch note regarding the story. It wasn't really huge but I don't want to be that kind of ass.

I'm just a baby when it comes enjoying a fresh experience lol. I've already seen/read too much about this game, but still hyped as fuck.

So they did change the universe. That's fascinating, I kind of wish I got to play both versions. I'm surprised the patch has so much in it, it will be interesting to be able to compare the two versions one day. Universe 'Beta' will be meaningfully different and cease to be after the patch. I suppose that's something that happened all the time during development but it's kind of cool (to me anyway) that it's something we'll get to see.

I've read through the notes. I can confirm that Patch 1.03 will multiply your hype by at least...4.2x

I'm happy that they increased shadow and texture resultion. Aside from the pop in this was the most distracting visual issue.
It's also good to hear that they are working on temporal AA because their current AA solution lead to some ugly pixel crawl.

Edit: Ohh, and they imroved the pop-in and generation speed. Sweet!

So they're reducing pop-in when flying over terrain. That's good news.

Hope they reduce pop-in on-foot at some point as well.

Love this quote.

Exploits – infinite warp cell exploit and rare goods trading exploit among other removed. People using these cheats were ruining the game for themselves, but people are weird and can’t stop themselves ¯_(シ)_/¯

Patch notes sounds good

Still waiting a couple of weeks for reviews and opinions on the PC version. Helps that I literally swamped with other RL stuff

Was there anything official regarding mods on the PC version? Steam workshop integration etc?

I did a little Googling and couldn't find anything, but has there been any word on PC system requirements at all? Hoping I can still max it on my 290x.

Man alive, those patch notes have me hyped. Couple that with the "what's next" bit at the end
(Base building!!)
and this game has already blown me away.

Next up we’re adding the ability to build bases and own giant space freighters. Temporal AA and my new cloud rendering tech should be coming soon too. It will really change the game again, and enhance it visually.

This universe we’ve built is a pretty large canvas, we’ve got a lot of ideas. This is the type of game we want to be.

WOOOOO

That's asking allot for a team that small to have completed, one apparently pretty significant, two updates before release.
That wasn't really how I was looking at it, nor that we might have to wait for the update with "features and content." but, the patches are one and the same, very impressive Sean!

My jaw dropped at a couple of the notes. The one on
feeding creatures, I mean really? You can make them loyal to you now? Holy crap

man, it's sounding good. i'll still wait for some impressions cause $60 is $60, but i'm 99% i'll be driving to gamestop after work to pick up this bad mamba jamba.

Unless someone bothers to compare them, who knows?

You are still on this narrative, eh?

Man, they must be the most amazing (are they Aliens?) devs of all time to get that big of a patch out and completed in 3 days since the 'leaks' for damage control.

I don't understand how harvesting a rare resource and selling it is an exploit....

Holy shit at those patch notes. This pretty much reads like an early access game that's reached 1.0 status, and then releasing the 1.1 patch with some hints for future plans.

There's one bit about
meeting other players, increasing the chances by easily searching for other people's discoveries
, I'm sure that'll encourage people to try it even more now.

I'm honestly and completely surprised at some of the stuff mentioned there, but it kinda falls into what I was kinda always thinking, that No Man's Sky will be a pretty different game one year after release (kind of like Elite: Dangerous).

Really excited for this game, friday can't come soon enough.

Hello Games will continually update No Man’s Sky this way. This is the first of many.

This really reinforces my initial thought that it's best to wait some time before playing NMS.
Sure, it will probably be great from the beginning. But after a few updates it will be more balanced, varied, deeper and prettier.

I skipped past the patch-notes as I haven't even played the game yet.

Saw a few reactions and it seems to be all positive? I saw pop-in was reduced a lot.

Seems like some of us have speculated, they are doing a Minecraft like model with ever expanding updates.

Tuesday yet!!!!!???

Rivyn just want to thank you for not copying over the final patch note in your paste on the last page. The lore they've come up with is actually super interesting to me (I was able to skip over it while reading on the actual page since I noticed you cut it)

New patch looks great, many improvements, especially getting rid of the exploit to travel too far in a short period. Hopefully PC will get 60 fps; 30 fps is a real bummer. :/

I should've bought digital!! I dont wanna wait till GameStop opens

I am seriously contemplating double dipping on digital (since I have the LE coming from Amazon).

I mean, I will be in my office Tuesday, so the LE will be there when I get home, but contemplating stay up past 12am for digital. (Was going to get digital no matter what down the road on sale, since I know it is a game I will be playing for a long, long time, in and out of.)

I might double dip myself for the same reasons. Just switched shifts with a co worker. I dread working on but screw it I need Tuesday freed up lol

All we need now is to get (patch note spoilers? lol)
Freighters, and then we can have our own zoo
...

I have no idea if I'm going to like this game or not. I'm mildly interested and have a limited edition coming from Amazon. I was going to cancel it but the patch notes I skimmed sound pretty damn good. I guess I'll be keeping my pre order now and giving this game a go.

so do we have any feedback on the pc port? still not sure if i want to get it on ps4 or want to max it using my gtx1080. i remember hearing there were doubts about the pc version,
