No Man's Sky gets released like, soon, I guess ¯\_()_/¯

Hope its like this

Imagine if when another player is in your star system you get a HUD prompt alerting you to another being present. The music starts getting fucking serious. There is a 'general proximity PoI ' that shows up, an approximation of where he /she/it is.

Then you meet.

Then you feed the other explorer. They now ur pet.
 
Just got around to seeing the notes. Just WOW. Kinda tempted to start without the update and just tool around the first Solar system. I'm going to be recording a lot of my gameplay so that would be good to have.

Dont know if its possible but would love to have some kind of space hangar (could be saved in any space station) to just collect diferent ships. I saw an image of a spacestation with many diferent spaceships parked, so not sure if was just for the show or its actually something possible.

You can't own one, but space station hangars have been described metaphorically as "showrooms" for ships in that system, even by Sean himself. For the moment you can only own and upgrade your single ship. Maybe one day :)
 
Too bad Sony doesn't recognize the barcode/serial number on preorder receipts as proof of purchase, granting hard-copy owners digital priviliges - it just kinda sucks knowing I can only download the game TDO (and that pretty much resonates for all my games)...just wanna speed home and start gaming immediately

Same here.

It depends how close you are with their distribution centers. People in the sticks, will have it sent out sooner to arrive 'on time'... those closer to the centers, legit seen sent the day before and still got it release day.

this and like I said before their system didn't update fast enough one time I ordered a game and refunded me the shipping of $15 due to the overnight shipping even though it came on the estimated date

Oh god so happy with the day one patch, I don't mind starting again, the game now feeling like a inventory management simulator :/

Other than giving you more space up front, I don't think they're messing with the inventory system in this patch.

I say bring on the menus though :)
 
I am completely prepped for the 24 hour livestream we are doing. Got enough caffeine to kill Charlie Sheen and enough grub to put me in a coma. But its for a good cause. Definitely not doing it pre-patch though as some of those notes look amazing and really would seem to make the game a far better experience. Like that it includes a couple hints about meeting up folks as well.

Thanks man. Its for a good cause and all that. Not sure I would do many 24 hour live streams. But its No Mans Sky and its donating for cancer research. 2 things I dig.

Space station hangers aren't even really "metaphorically" a showroom for ships.
You can talk to the pilots of those ships and make an offer to buy their ship if you want. When you get a new ship, though, it replaces your old one, so you have to make sure you transfer any valuables you were carrying on your ship before you make the purchase.

I'm hoping owning multiple ships and storing them comes alongside the base building and space freighter stuff in future patches.

I want to be able to store my ship in the Space Freighter and have it act like a shuttle craft or escape pod is shit gets real
