No mayo dips at Mcdonald's UK!

Stock up people

I'm American and have seen multiple people dip their fries in mayo. I wouldn't call it common, but I wouldn't call it unheard of either. It is actually pretty good. Even better when you mix sriracha or ketchup with the mayo.

Fry sauce is mayo and ketchup.

The majority of mayo is made from that. Even packet stuff. Homemade has a creamier consistency, though.

Yeah but they often also have stuff like sugar or corn syrup added, potasium sorbate and oddly enough use rapeseed oil or soybean oil. I guess my personal gold standard of store bought Mayo is Hellmans/BestFoods in a jar. In the jar it is canola based but in the bottle it is soy based. I'm assuming for texture? I can definitely tell the difference between the two tastes though.

McDonalds' mayo is kinda gross. Too much sugar in it.

I have never heard of it, but the Google results look pretty damn good.

Depending on where your from Aioli doesn't really mean the same thing.

American Aioli is pretty much a mayonnaise with lemon as its acid for some reason.

Actual Aioli is tons of crushed garlic emulsified with oil. (as the name would suggest)

People in the US (and I guess the UK) generally think it's gross to dip your fries in mayo, but I love it. When I visited Eastern Europe and mayo was readily offered as a condiment at McDonald's, I felt like I was with my people.

wat the UK does not have mayo at McDonalds? smh

That's standard here in Germany

Edit: WTF is with all the ppl weirded out at the thought of dipping fries in Mayo??!

I feel your pain, OP. Y'all don't know what's good. Fries and mayo is the shit. We've made that stuff into an artform.

Cocktail and andalouse are accepted substitutes. Then there's sweet mayo, which is even better. Fries with ketchup are heresy.

Belgium is a divided country in many ways, but we'd go to war for our fries and mayo.

This thread makes me embarrassed to be an American, how can people be so ignorant? Lol

Mayo with fries is fantastic.

Where is the outrage? They have the most obscure dips like curry sauce, but no mayonnaise. The fuck.

Curry sauce dip sounds delicious.

What are you talking about, curry sauce isn't obscure as a condiment. We have loads of stuff with curry sauce here.

Didn't know we didn't have mayo though, mayos pretty popular for dipping here as well.

Spot the americans who've never tasted good mayonnaise.

That said I think McDonalds just has something against mayo because even here in France they tend to give me some weird, vaguely béarnaise sauce when I ask for it.

Curry sauce dip sounds delicious.

Curry dip for McNuggets is extremely popular in South East Asia. There was even an outrage a few years back because the sauce went out of stock. I would have assumed US mcd had it considering the curry dip is made in US

From brief research this seems like a European thing, actually. Belgium, Netherlands. I would have bet anything it'd be Florida or Wisconsin or something.

Can confirm. Here in Belgium mayonnaise is the most popular sauce for fries.
