Makes sense in the context of the game. The characters of NMH are obsessed with violent pop-culture like Star Wars, video games, wrestling, etc.

Suda knows it looks and sounds like a lightsaber. But it's the only lightsaber that makes a joke of the phallic nature of lightsabers, by requiring jerking-off to recharge.
