NO ONE is playing Advanced Warfare online

My nephew got it for me in February so I could play with him and we never had trouble finding matches for the few months we played it regularly afterwards. Has it suddenly died then?
 
Doesn't this happen to every COD when the newest one is good. BO2 killed MW3's active userbase, but Ghosts barely made a dent in BO2.

How are other older CoDs doing then?

I'm not huge into CoD MP but why does the CoD community at large seem to hate AW?
I recall it getting warmly received at launch and all of a sudden everyone turned on it =/
 
My first response reading the title was that you were trying to play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. I was so confused as to why you confused that no one was playing it lol. But yeah, a new CoD came out, along with Overwatch and many other shooters, combined with the decline that CoD has been on for awhile now. It really shouldn't be a surprise at this point. Unless its CoD4 or Blops1 people tend to just move onto the newest Call of Duty at the moment. I bet Ghost is a ghost town.
 
I don't blame them. Probably the fastest I've ever dropped a cod game. Had about a 3.5 KD but that futuristic shit ain't for me. I dropped BO3 and I have the season pass.. The camping in COD has gotten ridiculous.

U watch what happens when the game comes out and nobody is playing the mp on the new game......activision probably has 4 or 5 map packs lined up for remastered cod.

Bf1 also looks all sorts of awesome so i really think this will be ghosts like in terms of fan backlash....its strayed way to far from what makes cod great
 
I hated AW to my very core, I love CoD but that shit wasn't CoD. I hated it from day one which has never happened before, usually it takes months before I tire of a new CoD but not with AW.
 
Advanced Warfare was definitely the only CoD multiplayer I've ever enjoyed at all. But I'm busy right now playing my favorite FPS PvP game of all time before it dies too, the new Doom's Freeze Tag mode (next on my list of favorites would be Marathon Infinity's Kill the Man With the Ball, Quake 3 2v2, Crysis 2 Team Deathmatch, pre-expansion Destiny Control especially on the vehicle maps, and Titanfall CTF)

Condrey released a tweet last year a bit before Blops 3 dropped if anyone can screen cap it, saying they listened and they are working om something they are very excited about. So my thoughts are either that Vietnam game or MW4. I mean Ghost underperformed and AW did worse so i would not be surprised if is that.
 
I think the COD movement system that Blops 3 introduced will be norm going forward, actually. Maybe a few unique mechanics from AW make it in but it will either be AW2 in name only or a whole new product.

I also loved AW for what it was but it was certainly rough.

Vietnam would be tight. Did AW really do worse than Ghosts?

Ghosts seemed to do average.

I think they might add side/back dashing back in, but yeah I can't see them having the vertical jump ever again. I think people universally loathed that.

If you have any DLC maps uninstall and reinstall the game and with base maps you should get no problems finding games.

And due to the large timezone difference between the United States and Europe the majority of people who an American will be playing with will be fellow Americans.
 
Hmm weird. I play zombies all the time and i can still find players.
AW has the best zombies. Specially compared to the POS zombie mode Blops 2&3 had. It might tie Blops 1 though.
 
I agree with this... at least for Xbox one. AW on Xbox one is ghost town right now. And the match making has also region restriction.
 
That's so weird, you used to be able to go back two or three years and get games easy. AW was a good one for multiplayer, too.

I say this, but I haven't played it since the summer before Blops 3.
 
I hated AW's multiplayer before it came out. When it came out. Months later. And today.

I really want Sledgehammer to make the AW2 campaign, but I honestly would rather they stay away from multiplayer entirely. Hand it over to Raven.

Plenty of people still playing Ghosts. I popped in the PS3 version a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure there were around 5000 online. Not huge but it only took seconds to get into a game.
 
Sorry I own it but consider it unplayable. I wish that was hyperbole I tried repeatedly but the lag , hit detection, servers are like dial up era bad . I'm always curious how people can actually ignore or get used to this .
 
people still play on PS4, but only on Team Deathmatch it seems. the other objective modes are empty

I haven't played a CoD game since BLOPS2 .. and am glad that I've not bothered with the franchise since then.

Activision's yearly CoD installments got tiresome fast.
 
I haven't played a a CoD game since Black Ops and have kind of been contemplating going back and playing some of them, but the fact that all the multiplayer is totally dead and the games are still ridiculously priced even on sale has totally killed any interest.
 
I've got it for Xbox and found games easily a few weeks ago when I hopped on for a few matches. I really like it as well and now that I'm over BO3 online, I'll probably jump into it some.
 
Yup, I dropped AW super fast as well. I believe it was before two weeks after I bought it. BOIII on the other hand, I played that until January or early February, much stronger hold due to the better maps. But the maps still don't even compare to MW1/2 epic map design.
 
Gerstmann was right that the AW click-stick propulsion is way better than BOIII's double-jump and wall-run. BOIII definitely got the edge on maps tho.
 
That sucks. Never did get into the MP myself but that campaign was something else. Best since COD4 for me and freaking god-tier next to Blops3 (Christ, that was baaaaaddd).
 
i really dont think thats possible OP

a lot of the less popular modes are dead. yeah, but the mainstays (deathmatch etc) are always full.

i have it PS4, friend has it on xbox one, i never heard/seen talk about lack of players o rmatches.
 
I can get into TDM on Advanced Warfare on X1, but trying to play other modes was pretty much not gonna happen.

I had all the DLC installed, I should try without DLC next time.

Titanfall on PC. For a game marketed so heavily I was so disappointed by how quickly the community died. Hard point was my favorite mode and I couldn't find a match weeks after the game launched in the west coast

Maybe if Infinity Ward didn't make two trash games with multiplayer before this there wouldn't be any criticism
 
So how is this now on PS4?

It is on sale on PSN (that should boost online activity, right?) and I can get a physical copy for much cheaper now. I am in the mood for a mindless blockbuster campaign (I have heard this one is of decent length and production values) but a somewhat active online mode would be nice.
 
I actually went on a CoD purhase binge as I think the campaigns are a bit of mindless fun. After downloading them all and installing one by one and giving the multiplayer a go just to test I found more people playing Ghosts of PC than Advanced Warfare. Didn't help that AW had the automatchmaking thing that didn't tell you how many were online whereas Ghosts I could see how many were in each playlist.
