I didn't click the link, but the description was enough, holy crap!

Though some members of the Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths were reportedly offended by the image, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.

Actually we aren't that tolerant of religion, especially in the states where dumb ass fundamentals angers up the blood trying to interfere with school and science. It gets the rightful haterade. One religion ain't going to get special treatment over others.

Good thing I live in a country that isn't religious AT ALL.

I live in Europe and know more moderate muslims then I know christians. And I hardly know any muslims.

Yeah, right, but Maitreya isn't The Buddha. That would be Siddhartha. Also, Hotei is purely Chinese in origin, and originated about 1100 years ago. While The Buddha himself was Indian (or Nepali if you want to be super picky) and presumably lived 2400 years ago. So as a fully enlightened being Hotei would be a Buddha, but the Buddha refers to someone completely different. This seems to get consistently confused in Western depictions.
