The same reason 360 people want it on 360, when they know they would get nickeled and dimed to death, before they would ever see a FREE mod, and, the same reason PS3 owners want it, when fucking EA is doing the port. Maybe, the game is that fucking good, and people want to play it?

Except 360 and PS3 can fucking run it the way it's meant to be ran? The videos of Portal on PS3 look just as good as the 360 version.

If you want to play Portal and you don't own a PC, 360 or PS3, you've got bigger problems, like wondering about your next meal.

Everytime someone compares Wii to PC/360/PS3, God kills an orphan. Keep it up, I've never liked that little Madeline girl.

Can I please see some links or some evidence that half-life was unplayable on the xbox. Did I recieve the one working copy in America, or are you talking out of your ass.
 
Portal can be done on Wii, the graphics can be downgraded but the game will still look good enough/play better than 360/PS3, yada yada, etc etc, other obvious crap that doesn't need more than a couple posts to reason out..

First of all, Valve will not port just Portal. It would only port everything in the Orange Box. Second, Valve IS a PC developer. 360 port was easy. EA is handling the PS3 port, because Valve doesnt want to learn a new console. If this is the case, why would they port it in the first place.

I think we have a different definition of working.

When I play HL2, I want to experience it, not see something barely scraping by.

A quick Google of "half-life 2 xbox framerate" brings up some results that support my playtime of the game, before I gave up (before Ravenholm), because HL2 doesn't deserve to be tarnished by such an unimpressive performance.

And apparently i did recieve the only good copy of HL2 on Xbox.

Why. I have enjoyed every game on the orange box.

Hell i have enjoyed every PC and console game I own that valve has worked on immensely.

Edit: And I didn't need to bitch about any of them on the internet to feel good about purchases. Hooray for me, and bring on the Portal port that no one here has to buy, but i'm sure Barnolde will bitch about while crying about a lack of original wii games.

Then you're just crazy. HL2 on Xbox was ass. For the game of the year in 04 and 07, playing it on Xbox borders on blasphemy. It's just not fucking worth it to play it with it being hideously ugly with constant framerate drops.

Its alright, but barely playable. Its like playing Halo PC with a FX card in DX9. Playable, yes. Enjoyable, barely. For what its worth, mine never dipped to far, but it really couldnt handle 30+ FPS. Mostly ran 20.
 
You know, a couple of the Spongebob games on PS2/XBX/GCN were actually really good 3D platformers.

But I guess some people are more concerned with the shallow trimmings than the actual gameplay of a game.
 
Wow @ how petty some of the arguements in this thread are. It's not like the idea of porting games to less powerful hardware is new to gaming consoles. One of the best features of Source is that (as previously mentioned) a low end PC can still run the games.

Also the Xbox port of HL2 was actually pretty good.

It's Ok to judge a book by its cover when it comes to games. That's why games like Dewy, Zak and Wiki, and NiGhts never sell.

They play like they look.
