No possibility of RE5 Wii : (

i'm sure they can just replace the title screen with a static image. if they've done Dead Rising, i'm sure they _could_ do RE5, but whether or not it's worth the time and effort is another story. probably not.

Sad indeed...but I didnt expect it anyway. It would have been nice though, especially since A LOT of what has been shown looks like it is straight out of RE4.

Ah well.

That sounds like a really defensive, knee-jerk answer :lol

"This looks similar to RE4. What's different?"
"CAN'T YOU SEE THE GRAPHICS?! ARE YOU BLIND?!"

They're probably tired of questions like these.

I don't want RE:5 Wii. Everybody should be wanting a new game in the RE:4 engine unique for Wii.

agree.

Also the whole "RE4 HD" criticism is factually false - it has some of the biggest changes in RE's entire history. The co-op mechanic is a literal cosmic shift for mainline RE titles. And it has changed control schemes that have been systemic throughout the series. Major changes that fans have been asking for for years. The graphics alone are enough to make that difference, but the questioner is right that it's "superficial"... because any observation reveals RE5 is an entirely different beast.

I dont think that they can do a technically identical port

a graphically watered down port with superior controlls however is possible

Kawata: First of all, and quite obviously, the graphics. Even the title screen of this couldn't have been done on PS2 or Wii.

Yea it was a pretty confrontational question. I got more out of things like this:

CAVG: And you're still pretty excited about the way the lighting can impact on the gameplay?

Kawata: Yes. In the daylight, you can see your opponents very clearly, so the gameplay is very action-oriented. In the dark, you can't see your enemies nearly so clearly, so we utilise the power of the next generation consoles; particularly the sound abilities. The sound effects are quite incredible - if you have a 5.1 stereo system you'll hear your enemies moving around you even if you can't see them. We spent about three to four times more cash on the sound effects in Resident Evil 5 than we did in Resident Evil 4.

I really hope this is true, and Capcom isn't even considering a port.

Though given Dead Rising Wii, I suspect it will make its way eventually.

This thread eerily reminds me of that PS3 plays import PS2 games legally thread. Miscommunication ftl :lol

Co-signed.

My first thought when seeing this thread was "No Fucking duh!"

My actual thought after seeing the thread was "Title screen troll lol"

Com'n guys, Resident Evil 5 Wii isn't happening. That was obvious sometime ago. If you want to place your hopes on something that has no hint of happening then at least start calling for Resident Evil 4-2 instead.

I like how Wii gets a port of DeadRising and PS3 doesn't
CAPCOM Announces "Dead Rising: Try Before You Die" on PLAYSTATION 3

I think the Wii Dead Rising team will get their hands on RE5 assets sooner or later.

Title screen hype +1

Now I'm expecting the most mind-blowing title screen ever conceived of by the human mind. Complete with virgins and orgasms.

The actual game will pale in comparison.

It has been said before, but it bears repeating:
I do not want a RE5:Wii edition. I want a RE5: Gaiden, or maybe a RE4.5, done from the ground up for Wii. That would rock.

Anyway, anything is possible given enough money (/motivation) and manpower.

um, why don't Wii only owners who want to play this just buy a 360? Its cheaper then the Wii now, plus it has a godly lineup
