NoA bringing over a star from the east!

Yea, I agree with that analysis. I was thinking April/May for Wii Sports Resort myself. That's why I personally am leaning towards Nintendo is being there usual selves and aren't going to disclose the release date till as close as possible and trying to make a spectacle out of it with the mainstream press. I seriously think Iwata's GDC speech is going to be all about Wii Sports Resort, and it will be playable there, and a release date will be announced then or shortly after.

Co-signed. I think people expecting Iwata to "drop the bomb" are deluding themselves. I think they are plenty of incredible games in the pipeline, we just don't know about them and probably won't for a very long time.

well we actually know about more than a dozen titles in the pipeline for 2009 for japan, we just only have localization confirmations on 3 of them.

My question is which Starfy game is getting released in the US? The newest one getting an ENG translation or what? Want to pick up some of the others but dont want to import a game thats getting a US release. Other then that I am preordering Punch Out and ExciteBots tomorrow as Excite Truck is beyond great and was the 1st game I bought with my Wii. Punch out is going to be great and I would love Tyson to be unlockable in the game(wishful thinking FTW)

The GBA games (Densetsu no Stafy 1-3) are somewhat difficult to find, but those have not been translated. Densetsu no Stafy 4 has not been translated, either, and it was the first of the two DS releases. The most recent is--as expected--Densetsu no Stafy 5, and this press release confirms that it will be coming stateside.

Short answer: feel free to import all except Densetsu no Stafy 5: Taiketsu! Taairu Kaizokudan. (I think that's what it's called.)

AWESOME NEWS

To all the MOTHER 3 fans: Just give it up, it's a lost cause. I share your pain, but stop deluding yourselves. That shit ain't healthy.

Agreed, agreed. Getting over that fact a long time ago did wonders for my sanity. :lol

7 hours and nobodies posted screen shots yet?

Either that guy was lying, or there's some sort of terrible embargo bullshit.

Good thing I didn't buy a DSL for first party games, but at least Rhythm Heaven hasn't been shitcanned
yet

Anyway, they released a trailer last week saying it's on track for May, although my Amazon preorder still thinks it's shipping in March.

It is. March 17. I just verified with PR.

It's nice to see that NoA does actually have new Wii releases slated for Q2.

What about the DS though? They still have a localized Tingle RPG sitting there, and what about Band Bros. DX, Soma Bringer, and Card Hero? And a date for M&L3? :(

NOA lineup has been pretty weak for some time now. This isn't has bad as I was told, but at this point people are just going to have to import, live with it, or actually start paying attention to the third party software.

To me that simply meant that it was apart of the EXCITE series and it's in the same vain as those 2 games. Like I said, EXCITE is a series . . . this should be as much of a "spin off" as EXCITE trucks was.

And Im saying that it's about robots because the word "bots" is short for "robots".

Pardon me, I'm not good at explaining myself while I'm on a hurry. I meant to say that there are a couple of things that stand out to me, and together they may be a hint at what is Excite Bots.

First of all, why bots. Why not futuristic vehicles, I mean when I think robot I think human-looking machines with an intelligence of their own that perform tasks in lieu of real people, not vehicles that pull out stunts and deform terrain (as the PR piece says). Perhaps we'll be fighting while driving?

So perhaps this isn't a normal racer after all. We do know that it uses the wheel, so you actually drive, but it leaves a lot of questions in the wild.

Then the part where it says that it draws from the franchises of Excite Bike and Excite Truck. To me, right as to you, this new game meant just a new game in the serie, but the PR itself goes as far as stressing that it will be something different from the other two (and correctly say so of the other two as well, in fact the Excite Bike games are quite different from Excite Truck).

All I'm saying is that there is a possibility for this game to be completely different from the previous installments. Hopefully we'll know more soon. :)

I will forever hate Starfy because of Sakurai's cursed comments. >:(

1) How dare you use "Sakurai" and "cursed" in the same sentence!
;)
2) I knew of Stafy before the DOJO!! of course, but the comments actually made me love him even more, I think. :lol

Sometimes you may wonder "Stafy, why did you even come here?!" But that’s part of his charm.

Actually, I'd be happy with a bit more info on it. I mean, bots? What does that mean?
The fact that I can already pre-order the game, without knowing what it looks like or what the gameplay is like is insane. I've never seen such a stealth game announcement. It's out in less than two months, releasing a screenshot wouldn't hurt anyone.

At first I thought "Excitebots" was actually a misspelling of "Exciteboats" which would have been quite awesome. Intrigued to see what it really is, but the developer pedigree and the length of time it's been in production are promising...

Oh geeze.
An Exciteboats would be insane....
Hydrothunder with terrain deformation and crazy tricks.

Import it and you'll know exactly why this wouldn't be profitable to sell in America.

I just did a few days ago. Not really an RPG though. More of an adventure game (similar in structure to a point & click adventure title) with mild Zelda elements. I'm liking it, so far.

I like it to, but let's be honest, this is not something most people in the American market are looking for.

Also, when the DS is so import friendly, we should be happy to get a euro release of such niche titles, because it means we can play it with no problems at all.

But it's already localized! They could even just sell it online like they planned for Electroplankton for all I care, just make it available for NA at a reasonable price.

Excite! + Waverace? The game would need to ship with a plastic bag to contain somewhat all the awesome that'd drip out of the disk.

Nintendo fucking rocks!:lol
I love this new way of revealing games myself. TP made me go to hell and back . . . and Brawl was my braking point (I can never forgive Sakurai . . . we all now know how batshit crazy he is). Stealth reveals kick ass in my book!

There should be Pics sometime soon, hold tight. ;P

This is not kick-ass, this is sending games to die.

Still no Fatal Frame 4, the list fail.

It's all but confirmed that it'ts coming from a third party.

Anyway while it is nice to know that NoA will probably not be as bad as they were last year there are still some games missing (Layton 2?). At least they're progressing but they still have ways to go. Also Excite Bots came from nowhere. I expect Nintendo to build up hype soon.

Also while I do agree with the BS going on the amount of bitching in this thread is unbelievable, yes Nintendo's localization efforts are shit lately but at least this is progress and Starfy is one hell of surprise. When you have people bitching about Punchout's boxart (because the series has always been a work of art in terms of the games cover) that's when you know you go overboard. Complain what needs to be complain about don't vent your anger elsewhere.

Also not defending NoA or anything but some of these complaints are just stupid. I mean Disaster sold terribly in both Japan and Europe and has been slammed on the press and consumers for its subpar quality time and time again, Mother 3? WTF? It's a GBA game. It's obvious that it isn't coming out. Lack of VC? I'm seriously convinced that people are just bitching because their childhood one or two of their childhood games haven't been released yet. I mean I see no problem with the VC, it isn't great but it isn't bad. I mean possibly if people would actually look at the games being released then just waiting for their said games then they'd see things differently. Case and point one of the greatest Genesis games ever (MUSHA Aleste) was released a few weeks ago yet people still constantly bitched about the lack of quality releases.

same here , i love to wake up and read... EXCITE BOTS !!

Okay, still no sign of Excite Bots? Be damned Nintendo. Be damned.

Reggie: "Not my problem"

Played through Starfy 1-3, own 4 but haven't gotten to it yet.. guess I will wait for the English localization of 5, I definitely want to support this series in America, even though it's definitely on the easy side (exception: the final boss of #2). Fans of Super Princess Peach will feel right at home with the series.

I'm exactly the same with number 2, and I never even imported the games. The little guy comes out there and tries his best, and every once in a while, he surprises you.

Yup. I'm more worried that even NoE didn't give a chance to Glory of Heracles, Soma Bringer and Card Hero. And where the heck is Layton 2?

Glory of Heracles was rumored for a Euro release sometime ago if I recall correctly but no sign of it until now. Oh well, at least M&L3 is a given.

(Yes, I really like to repeat myself on this subject.)

So . . . ?

(If ya want to talk about it than just take the bull by the horns!)
