Nintendo announces they'll be publishing Xenosaga I + II for Nintendo DS in preparation for KOS MOS' appearance in Brawl. Believe.

I think it's a good time to announce something for the west market. Yesterday was a japan matter first of all. Nintendo needs more west love, so maybe, they can talk about the games europa\America care about (metroid, FPS and so on) and japan don't

The ability to download VC games onto a ram card for our DS's. So that we may play our VC games on the road!

I can hope...

Nintendo announces New Twists to classic franchises

At todays Nintendo conference, Reggie Fils-Aime announced several new initiatives to please the hardcore fan and reach out to new audiences. One of the most remarkable additions, is the revelation that Mario and Luigi's new adventure "Super" mario galaxy will have several innovations to attract gay gamers - a yet unexplored marketing opportunity for the Japanese company. "We would like to try different things with the mario universe" said Reggie Fils-Aime, " and we figured since it allready included flowers, rainbows and other key items with a gigantic huge gay factor, we could try to break into this market. It's going to be a super game for the gay hardcore gamer". Making mario grow will get a whole new meaning. Rumors say princess peach has been replaced by Prins Pooch.

But Nintendo will not leave it's loyal fans behind - they announced a special Wii edition of the long awaited Mother games. Mii Mother is an online game that will let you share online "Your mother" jokes with other users. "It's our way to bring new innovative online gameplay that has never beend tried before", claimed Fils-Aime. "The fan favorite will go together with a Mii Mother Wii Mother channel that actually let's you share your mother online."

"We also have a surprise for the Smash Bros fans out there - the game is going to be so great, we just had to delay it to an unannounced date in Q1 2008. We are going to hold a special conference at a later date to announce the date - because we know our fans love anticipation more then anything in the world."

Finally, Nintendo also announced Golden Gun - a special gold coated add-on to the recently announced Wii Zapper. "It's all about differentiation - and we know the request for a Golden Gun game was huge. I'm sure this will be a buzz on the internet in the following days".

The worldwide innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii™, Nintendo DS™, Game Boy® Advance and Nintendo GameCube™ systems. Nintendo are assholes sometimes, but I can't recall many situations where they offer new functionality only with a new model. It would really be shitting on the current owners if they said "Care about downloading games? Buy a new model!"
That's the thing though, you can do all of that even with the stock model. It's just highly inconvenient for an enthusiast that downloads a lot of games. WiiWare will work with the stock memory, I don't think those games will be huge (although CC looks like a full fledged title).

And a big fat :lol at the stuff e-phonk posted.

I just want to believe. I think Nintendo may one day release a Wii with more internal memory, but not without releasing a solution for people with the original model as well. Be it hard drive or support for SD cards.

Keep the dream alive. I'd wish for something like that myself but I just don't see it happening.

They're going to have to do something. WiiWare, VC, more channels, there's just not enough storage. Nintendo was incredibly shortsighted (and cheap) for sticking with 512MB, it should've been 1GB minimum, or more like 2GB.

My guess is they'll add a channel for your SD card, which will act like a folder for stored channels and games, and they have to be adding external HDD support at some stage.

I'm 100% sure there will be a solution for Wii owners for the storage problem. Be it first party or 3rd party. It could be SD card support or external HDD support but there is no way that there won't be a solution one way or the other (and I think it'll be there right in time for WiiWare launch).

But I do not expect much from this conference. It would be very strange if thunder struck twice like that. Hopefully some western WiiWare titles since all where Japanese yesterday (including every game announcement).

I doubt Nintendo will "have" to support HD any time soon. Unless they've got The 10 Year Plan in effect.
I wasn't clear, I meant HDD, as in external hard drive, I'll edit.

I don't think there's a need for HD resolution.

Ahh. Well, you'd hope so. I really worry they may come up with some silly solution instead, just because they're Nintendo.

9:20 a.m.: "Best game coming for the holiday is Super Mario Galaxy." Can't really argue with that.

This quote makes me think NOA pushed Brawl back just to ensure sales for Galaxy.
