Bunch of wusses in the northeast.
Seriously, south Florida it's 85 lows and 102 highs every damn day.

I run about 90 minutes a day around 5:00, and swim 2-3 hours most weekends in 100+ degree heat. Go kayaking as well in it a few times a month.

You get used to it.. and yeah, Austin is humid as fuck too. Just not as bad as H-town.

That said, we don't really have winters so it's a nice trade off.

Austin is probably a complete outlier for your state though and even then can you really say that 55%-80% of the population on any given day has to, or does, walk a mile outside?

Edit: There is most likely a reason Texas has the fattest cities in the country.

I grew up in Texas but am in New York for the summer, and I think everyone here are a bunch of whining pansies about the heat but I understand they aren't used to it.

Ha ha ha you sissies can't handle no hot weather!

Hot weather is pussy weather.

A true man is measured by his ability to bear the cold.

Um, in cold weather you just wear more. In hot weather, there isn't much you can do outside.

And pussies still complain. Real cold tolerance is seeing how long you can stand outside in frostbite-worthy (or lower) weather in a t-shirt and shorts before your scrotum freezes.

its pretty hot in Boston these days, but this is nothing compared to the heat in Kuwait so suck it up bitches! :P
There's a reason my Irish-Russian ass wasn't born in Kuwait :lol

Well thankfully it's only 93 here in Pittsburgh, no AC makes the nights terrible. Mid 90s all week blah, bring back Snowmageddon.

all these people calling us pussies for complaining about a HEAT WAVE are the same people who leave work and school for 10cm of Snow fall :P
Our cities don't pay for the right equipment. Tons of hilly/mountain/back road areas that don't get salted and cleared of snow.

As for you... everyone should have a/c, water, and cool clothes.

Wednesday "Fells like 44C".. I'm in Montreal!

44 degrees Celsius = 111.2 degrees Fahrenheit

Edit: Just realized that's the current temperature! We're going to have a tropical storm tonight.

New York is in the fattest cities as well.

Although, most of that data is based on shit like who has the most donut shops and hike and bike trails and not any kind of actual measure of how fat people really are.

But yeah, Austin is probably an outlier for the state for sure. We are also a much younger city which has to help some. I also don't care what the data says.. San Antonio has got to be the fattest city I've ever seen. Plump people everywhere.

I'm guessing the people calling northeasterners pussies for thinking 100 + humidity is hot are the same people that lose their shit the second they see snow flurries.

Or those in the same vein of the entirety of Los Angeles, whose entire infrastructure halts at the slightest indication of rain :lol

33c/92f in Toronto, but if you factor in the humidity we're hitting 44c/112f.

Damn, I miss the dry California heat.

Yea New Jersey here. Was just laying out for the last hour and I'm beat red and look liked i just jumped in a pool I'm so covered in sweat. Tomorrow and Wednesday should be even worse. Heat index in the 110's.

Pffffttt...

This is nothing to us West Coast GAF.

Dry heat on the west coast is entirely different than what a lot of us are experiencing.

I'll take 110f in California any day over 90f with 60%+ relative humidity.

Not familiar with humidity it seems. Plus you guys go nuts when it rains :lol

They have no clue what it's like when you feel like you can cut the air with a knife.

here's what I don't get. It is 63% humiditiy in LA right now, but it never feels likt it's 63% humidity.

It's only 40% here in DC, yet it feels soooo humid.

Why is that? Can you only feel humidity once you get past 85 F or something?

Gah... I was playing some ball earlier for a few hours, here in Toronto, and fuck that shit. I was melting. :lol

Yes. I can't even imagine what Angelinos would do if there was a blizzard; they'd probably drive faster.

It's 95 and deadly humid here in Boston, I wanted to go for a run but I don't want to throw up either

Shit sucks. Supposed to break 100 tomorrow. I just hope it's not unbearable during the night.

Oh it will be. I've started taking a cold shower before bed and not totally drying off.

I spent all of last summer in Hong Kong, so I like to think I have a decent notion of what humid heat is like. This heat wave is pretty hot. Not as bad as Asia, but definitely not comfortable. The whining is very much justified.

Yes, and I've experienced both of these things. Hit 105 when I was in LA a couple of years ago; while it was indeed pretty goddamn hot I would have guessed low 90s if I didn't know.

High 90s in New York City is completely fucking brutal. No comparison.

Especially without AC.

IT'S HOT AS BAAAALLLLLLLSS here FUCK! And FYI, 90+degree weather in NYC is not the same as 90+degree weather out there in lala land, and that's not even taking into account how much harder it is to go cool off by a pool or beach.

Yes we know. Everything is more important in New York.

Do you know why Southerns get fat and lazy? Take this week of uncomfortable heat, then spread it out over 7 months. Yeah, you don't really feel like doing much outside that requires a shirt because the second you stand outside, you need another goddamn shower from the 90 degree weather with the 100% humidity factor for a combined heat index of FUCK YOU.

Then again, I lived in Maine and New Mexico. The cold in Maine shrivels your balls so quick you begin to doubt you ever had any, and I don't care about the dry heat, when it's 124 degrees in the shade, it's fucking hot.

But, off all the 12 states I've lived in, South Carolina has the worst weather I've ever seen. Hot, muggy, rainy, no breeze, crappy, crappy, crappy. Fuck that place.

Just turned on my AC.

Was outside all day cleaning the garage and I had enough.

The dog just sat in front of the coldest vent and is now comfortably curled up in a ball and sleeping. :lol

I got into a real life discussion with a New Yorker about food. His position was that NYC has the best Italian food in the world. I respectfully mentioned, using the bare minimum of epitaphs, that Italy may have something to say about that.
