Did you really just put culture and the south in the same sentence without adding the phrase "complete and utter lack of"?

Actually I dont want kids cause im a terrible human being who shouldn't reproduce.

...because of the moose thing? Don't be so hard on yourself. Living in Maine is like the sexual equivalent of the Donner Party. The world will understand.

Since when is wicked a Maine word? Although I've been known to steal slang from all around the globe so I guess I don't really care.

All my inlaws say it. Sure, it's most famously a Boston thing, but the whole NE area uses it. At least so I've gathered from my years in Vermont and Maine

Dear North East of North America: we have humidity in the rest of the country too.

Texas is not a "dry heat" either.

Relative Humidity: AM and PM.

Austin, TX 83% 59%
Houston, TX 90%, 63%
Dallas, TX 81%, 58%
New York, NY 72% 56%
Boston, MA 73%, 58%

It is more humid here than it is in New England. We get how hot it is. You don't have some super special New England heat that is worse than what we feel.

We were comparing California to the north east, not middlemerica

I was confused because I'm the only one in my area that I know of who says it frequently. But people try to tell me southwestern Connecticut isn't new England anyway so whatever.

It's not, really...Southwestern CT is culturally dominated by NYC
Not really. Or, not among the kids anyway. Among the wives in the mcmansions, perhaps but most people I know don't really have anything to do with nyc.

No, i'm proud of myself for that one. A full grown moose can kill a person without much effort. You gotta be a man's man to mount one.

It's cause im just a terrible fucking person. Maybe has something to do with spending so much of my childhood in Georgia. That southern air will rot your brain.

I broke down and got two window AC units.

They're barely helping, and worse, I can't use either in my bedroom.

Really? My grandparents use a window unit to cool their one story house and it works just fine for them.

Hasn't been bad in upstate NY, low 90's the next two days then dropping to low 80's the rest of the week, 70 tonight. :D

got an update on my iphone alerting me to a 'heat wave' in the northeast so i checked weather.com to see the temps..96 in philly. :lol :lol :lol :lol taht's a heatwave?

Much of New York's in house electrical can formally be classified as "fire hazard" just due to the age of its design. The house I grew up in was 100+ years old and every year we broke fire code just by plugging in our window units.

Was 98 degrees where I'm at in NY earlier today. I don't know how I'll sleep tonight, I can't sleep in the heat.

It's been over 90 here in northern Michigan over the last couple days. It's unbearably humid and muggy.
It's like we have a 5 month long winter with sub 20 degree weather and now it's over 90. Goddamit, where is the inbetween.

Thats how it is here in Montana... we get like 2 weeks of spring...2 weeks of fall, and the rest is either ice cold or super hot.

Considering 85 is the norm.

God, how is this thread still going? We get it Texans and southerners, it gets hot down there. Know what, it snows down there once in a blue moon too. It's all about being prepared. When I've been in Houston, Dallas, or even Richmond, know what people do? They sit inside in their centrally cooled mini-mansions all day, then they go get in their cars (parked in their garage) and crank up the AC to drive somewhere, where they spend a grand total of 5 minutes outside walking from their car to the air-conditioned store. Oh, but you guys are so tough for dealing with the heat. Meanwhile I'm sitting in my 130-year old condo with creaky, leaky sash windows and a window AC unit struggling to keep the room under 80 degrees, praying that everyone running their air conditioners doesn't overload the electrical supply on my block. After growing up in DC, I know which is easier to deal with, and it's not the centrally air-conditioned house.

Hot as fuck in Jersey today. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse. I'm used to it. Went to school in AZ. Now would be a perfect time to go the shore, but shit's gonna be paaaaaacked. I still need to go to LBI this summer.

There is a difference between trolling and bantering, folks. Also, your momma.

Nerevar, chill out. If you can. LOL GET IT!?!

But seriously, this was all in fun. It sucks in the heat, it sucks in the cold. There is nowhere we can all agree that sucks worse. Except California. We all hate you, California.

One window unit, and it cools the entire floor? Any idea what BTU rating it has?

Cubsfan23 said:
eh come cry about it when you get the humidity that the Ohio Valley gets.

Yeah, I was about to comment on Incognito's post. Low 90's can be pretty uncomfortable (and even deadly), depending on the humidity.

Like the Ohio valley, the humidity can get pretty high in Buffalo, and it certainly is right now. National Weather Service has issued air quality warnings too. Yay.

I don't know if it cools the entire floor but it does enough to keep their living room and bedroom down the hall comfortable. No idea on btu's, wasn't an expensive high end version or anything though.

33c at night here, and 42c with the humidity factor. FUCK THIS SHIT.

It's awful. I'm going to fill a bowl of ice and put it in front of my fan tonight.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I just have to make ice.

10:30 and feels like a hot bath outside :lol

yeah it was almost 90 on my way in to work at 10pm tonight... humid as fuck too.

i have a feeling its going to get worse.

I am traveling from Bridgeport to Hartford CT right now already too hot for me... I forgot my ID so Amtrak would not sell me a Ticket to Hartford from New Haven had to go back home on the local train to get my ID

Now in New Haven - Union Station haz AC :3

Stuck in a classroom with no AC for 4 hours. Come noon time i'm going to be in misery. Just got here and it's already unbearable.

This is probably one of the only days this summer where I'll get to use my AC. Also, I have ice cream in the freezer.

Jealous, the rest of New York?

It's okay, my mom said you can come over and we can have Totino's Pizza Rolls

Popped into Central Park Zoo.

The snow leopard looked warm.

tsott_050710.jpg

It's definitely thinking, "where's the fucking snow?"

:lol Gervais :D

I hate how girls can wear skirts or sleeveless dresses to work and guys have to be all dressy. Fuck that shit. Short sleeve, untucked shirt today and jeans (hooray for comfortable pants unlike slacks). Idaf, it's too hot.

I hate the summer!

My cat never leaves the AC rooms and if he must, he'll just hang around the bathroom since it's relatively cool there.

I woke up about an hour ago, left my room and I felt like I just got hit with a hot truck. Holy fucking balls.

No way I'm going outside today :lol

I think I'm about to check out the Central Park Zoo :lol

Went to the Columbus Zoo yesterday and it was about 95-97 all day. Wasn't really that bad, I'm originally from Georgia so it was definitely hot but the humidity wasn't how it is in Athens.. I didn't have to worry about sunscreen but my wife and most of the fair skinned people we have up here probably did. Thankfully I'll just have a good farmers tan after that.

That's an awesome pic MrPing.

The one downside about the East Coast is that it's only half equipped for crazy heat. Heat in AZ and the South is way worse, but most major metropolitan areas are 99.9% covered by A/C. In NYC I'm always just making it from one A/C pocket to the next.

We're rocking 110 degrees (39C for all you scientific and non-American folk) here in Ffld. County right now.

IS THE BITCHING LEGITIMATE YET GAF? IS IT?
