Yeah trust me I want to and like I said, I've deactivated mt Twitter about 3 weeks ago.

I just admit though that in general I still enjoy talking to people and there's people I do like. Cutting all social media means I have nobody to talk to and remaining isolated. I barely even speak with my best friend and we barely hang out, even much less due to Covid.

The weirdest thing almost all the people I've had issues with are people I thought were pretty cool and/or shared a lot of common views.

Edit: the last guy turned out he's a Jo Jorgensen libertarian who got upset I called rioters Marxists and terrorists after I replied to him.

So I can cut all ties to SM, but then I'll just have little-to-no communication with anyone. And not having any money and a broken console doesn't help matters.

Been off Facebook around two years now. Just need to delete Instagram but I usually use it to share funny pics between friends. Still probably spend too much time on it.

I generally have the least issues with FB nowadays, exception above. Probably because....

1) pretty much all my Friends are people I know or knew IRL

2) while 90 percent of them are Leftists, I avoid politics like the plague when it comes to FB

Sending pictures of arguments is definitely weird.
But you're also posting on a forum which is rife with disagreements, so that's a bit ironic.




OP, I check Facebook like once every month/two months or so.
Once you realize that 99% of the people on there are people you haven't actually seen since you were in high school, it gets really easy to just let it all go.

The people who actually mean something to you are already in contact with you. There's no need to pay attention to the rest of them.

It really does make life a hell of a lot simpler and more relaxed.

Only social media i use anymore is Era and GAf. I stopped using my facebook because my feed was always filled with people spewing toxic trash and it wasn't worth my time or mental energy fighting with people when it's not going to change anything or make me feel any better.

I cut a good amount of friends, but i don't regret it.

I don’t use twitter anymore. I tried Parler for a bit, but that was actually too right for my taste. Like “no mandatory vaccines! No masks!” type stuff. I gravitate to places with people I think I could sit down and drink a beer with, whether I agree with them or not.

I basically use Facebook to share family pictures but I rarely engage in discussion outside of people I know. There's a few groups I post in but it's more just when I'm bored.

Reddit I have basically a handful of interest related subs that usually don't get political that I check(plus porn).

I still think Instagram is my most used but it's really just to look at watches and clothes and gear and reinforce my buying decisions(plus fat asses).

I was never big into FB, I use to be big w/Reddit and Twitter. Twitter was the first to go for me, around 2017 I couldn't handle every other "conversation" devolving into a toxic mess. I had always avoided the default dubs on Reddit as those went to shit a long time ago, but now even more niche subreddits have authoritarian moderators, goons who manipulate post ranks, and forced injections of politics into subs which have NOTHING to do w/politics.

I think our society is changing for the worst w/social media.
