Ha ha. no sleep for you. Work on that essay. :P Very well done.

Finished. wc:50142

I know. Writing quickly doesn't come easily to me. But you did what you asked of your self. And hopefully completion is satisfying enough for you to return next year.

Final WC: 86664 Total length of the novel: 120,500 words.

I'll write some more but I only got a couple hundred out of the few minutes I managed to write before midnight. Ugh.

WC: 37807

Falling into the daaaangerous trap of veering away from the core plot to simply world build or write about things I'm interested in for word count. Perhaps they'll end up adding interesting flavour to an arc, perhaps I'm just going to go back and cut them all in a few month's time.

3000 a day and I hit 50,000 almost on the dot on the last day.

I think I might actually do it this year :D

That or fail miserably on the weekend cause of some unforeseen junk. So close yet so far @_@

names are still hard. antagonists are hard. writing is hard.

There is zero rhyme or reason to the names I choose outside of a couple dumb references. Sometimes characters don't get last names. Some characters are called by their last names, others their first, often with no explanation. I don't know either.

Bursts of inspiration. No way I'm finishing this at 50,000, though.

I kept going slightly after that last post without passing out. i guess i'm now actually ahead of the benchmark for the 25th. wooo.

i wonder how much i can get done after the incoming nap. Won't have a laptop from 27th on so any final push will happen on paper. being unable to upload the manuscript on the nano site doesn't matter to me.

Day 25, and all's well. Greeting from the chilly shores of Lake Superior! New winners since the last "daily" update: Jintor, bluepolicebox, viciouskillersquirrel, Aerocrane, and mu cephei! Well done, all!

The top of the new leaderboard is Norua at 47,890 (almost there!), followed by Mr.Swag and drowsy.

We've still got 17 folks past the benchmark, which is excellent given how many winners we've just had, but I still see a lot of folks just a little way behind but still within reach. Keep on going, make a push for the end! You can do this!

Benchmark for today is 43,333 words.

I know we discussed and shot down the idea of compiling a list of links to people's NaNo novels, but is there any interest in compiling a list of people willing to share and maybe one for people willing to read?

I feel like this is something that could maybe go in the general Writing thread? I'd be into it for sure, but it doesn't need to be NaNo-specific. Finding beta readers is always needed.

I hit the the Nanowrimo target :D
Another 10k to write until the month is over with!
I'm about 70% through part 1 of my book, I guess.

10k written in the last two days might have been too much.

Well yeah, that would work too, but it just seemed like this thread would also be appropriate because we've got a fresh crop of new books and I'd wager most of them aren't regulars in the Writing OT is all.

On an unrelated note, did anyone find themselves making a lot of typos this year? I caught myself constantly not opening/closing quotes, using the wrong punctuation mark, duplicating words, etc. I almost never have that issue, but I did it a lot this year. Wonder if it was just a fatigue thing.

Hammered out the last of it today. I'm only even half way done but atleast now Lustre is looking far more complete than when I first worked on it. So much to trim later tho >.<

So, so many. I'm a frequent poster on the NaNoism thread on the official forum. I really go hardcore on shutting off any editing, which means lots of typos, and occasional verging into weird stream of consciousness. Last year I was really not feeling it one day and wrote briefly about how I wanted to play Dark Souls. >.>

2K to go! I know I should just finish it here and now, but it's 11 o clock PM and I don't wanna rush it or anything. I'll probably go over, but this is the first time in many days I've been excited for this book.

WC: 20170

I hadn't posted any updates recently. Either way, I just finished writing a bit over 8,000 words in one day today...I think I'll go take a nap now.

Might write more tonight, but gonna update in case I don't.

WC:66,005

One of those days where you're writing interesting stuff but you can't quite get into the mindset to really commit. Managed to force out a decent amount anyway.

WC:43672

Go winners! Hopefully I'll be joining all of you before the month is out. I think I have the rest of my novel all plotted out, too, so if I could actually finish it, I'd be pretty happy.

WC: 35232

Forgot to update my wordcount for a couple of days. I'll need to crunch it weekend. Luckily I don't have that miuch planned except for a few beers and Dragon Age Inquisition.

I'm pretty sure my book will not be finished at 50k, that and this final stretch is gonna be tough with how busy this week has been >.>

Either way I'm feeling confident :D

Used a post I made in this thread in the novel. My yearly attempt at trying to get a GAF shoutout into my novel has been accomplished. Pretty much used an experience I had in researching this novel and placed it on a character's shoulders. I think it works. Just about.

Yes the post is in November. :P
