November Nintendo Direct Speculation and Discussion

I'm almost to the point now where I wish they would just keep it secret until launch, so when I boot it up the first time I have only a vague clue to what I'm actually going to see.

When Wii launched on November 19th firmware 2.0 came out which included:

Ability to write and read data on an SD Card.
Addition of "Country Settings" in System Settings.
Addition of "System Update" in System Settings.
Ability to arrange downloaded channels on the Wii Menu.
Ability to set "Parental Controls" to restrict online activities.

They aren't manufacturing the Wii U with the final launch firmware due to logistics. This gives them a few months to continue working.

Yup, that's how I feel as well. My Wii U Deluxe and copy of NSMBU are paid off. Fuck it, Nintendo, just let everyone go in blind. If their shit was together we'd know the details by now.

This isn't about secrecy anymore, things are not done and will patched in. This disappoints me as I expected better from Nintendo. But both MS & Sony have done the same thing, patch in functionality post launch. If you can beat em, join them, right Nintendo?

This is just the nature of networked hardware/software. Nobody has everything perfect when they launch in the world today. The beauty of this is they can keep working right up until midnight before the launch and then release the patch.

So basically, there's a lot that won't be in there on launch day. What did they confirm would be there?

I am conflicted about any EA purchase but I decided not to punish the developer. Not that I am fine with what EA has done to this release but I want to try this game and I am willing to pay the full price. I don't mind the OMEGA DLC being later since I will have a backlog of games for Wii U launch. And I don't normally rush through RPGs. The latest details Bioware posted today seems to be only missing the latest upcoming DLC. I'll just get this game and need for speed and swallow the bitter taste of EA's slime.

I think I might actually end up buying it in the end . Either the day I pick up my system or soon afterward because I'm already getting Black Ops, ZomibU, and possibly Tekken. Waiting for reviews of Assassin's Creed 3 do to hearing how buggy the other versions are (also I'm not crazy about the multiplayer in AC3) so there is now room for Mass Effect 3.

Nintendo of Japan announced a Direct for tomorrow!
