It should be on there. By my count it had sold 6.68m copies through the August NPD. That should be put it above Halo 2.

Mario Kart Wii is approaching 7 million in the US (and will certainly surpass that mark by the end of the year). I'd be surprised to learn that Halo 2 sold more than that in the US.

This is why the only ones I really respect on that list are Wii Fit and Halo 2. Grand Theft Auto (Vice or San Andreas) on the PS2 is probably the only other game on that list that might stay on the list for single sku best sellers..

I'll just say it is comforting to know many great games by very many talented developers could be commercially successful without appearing on this list, or the top 100 list, or the top 500 list.

My copy of Wii Play scratched and since I already had 4 Wii Remotes I bought it on ebay for $30. Looks like with shipping it's still selling for around $20 – which is around the price people will pay on greatest hits titles. Should value priced hits not count either?

People do buy it for the games. Otherwise, they'd be stupid to not buy the remote alone for less.

Tanks alone is worth $10.
